Wings of Fire Eclipse Falling

Chapter 23

Under the cover of night, Quicksand, Deathbringer, Kinkajou, and several rainwings and nighwings were flying towards what they hoped was Nightmare's island.

"Are you sure they flew this way?" asked Quicksand straightening Thief's pouch

"Yes" said Kinkajou

The large group flew into dark clouds and they emerged at an island with a volcano that had no steam or lava and a camp of tents sat on the black sand beach.

"Remember the plan?" asked Quicksand

"Yes" said Deathbringer, "You'll distract the Followers we sneak into the fortress and look for Glory and the others"

"Good" said Quicksand, "Let's go" as he dove towards the island...

Quicksand beat his wings faster and flew over the Follower's camp and when he reached the center he saw a massive steam vent and he upended the sack of albino-flame cacti around the steam vent and made for a hill made of rubble.

Quicksand landed on the hill and saw multiple Followers come out to see what he dropped just as he saw a blast of steam hit one of the white orbs and it exploded in a blue fireball knocking the Followers around it onto the ground. The blue flames reached the other albino-flame cacti and set them off and soon all the tents were covered in blue fire and the Followers were in panic.

Quicksand saw Tornado notice him and point to the hill of rubble and Followers flew up into the air and started heading his way...

Quicksand took off and flew towards them, sword drawn and right before he would have headbutt Tornado, he turned and flew towards a flooded beach... 

Quicksand ducked and weaved between arrows and fire until he saw pink scales and then nothing... 

Quicksand smirked and realized multiple rainwings were on the stone arch the flash of pink came from and as Quicksand flew under the arch, multiple Followers tried to follow him.

Quicksand heard multiple blowgun shots and the Followers fell onto the flooded beach... Then he saw Tornado... the sleeping darts bouncing off her armor and Quicksand flew towards her and that's when she drew an an axe and they both swung their weapons...

Their weapons collided and sparks flew and through gritted teeth the two rivals blocked each other's blows and attempted to knock the other one out of the sky. 

Tornado headbutt Quicksand and swung her axe towards his shoulder when Thief jumped out of his pouch and landed on her back and he jumped onto her right wing throwing her off balance and her axe harmlessly passed Quicksand who grabbed her arm and squeezed causing her to drop her axe.

Quicksand turned and kicked her in the face and as she fell towards the ground Quicksand grabbed Thief and flew towards the volcano when Quicksand saw two dragons blocking his path... Seal and Condor with about a dozen Followers...

The Followers were all put to sleep and Quicksand flew towards the large sandwing and the Icewing assassin...

Seal blasted his frostbreath at Quicksand who rolled and as he flew over him, knocked Seal out with the handle of his sword.

Condor roared, but before he could take off a sleeping dart hit him in the neck and he plucked it out and roared again, but then about a dozen more sleeping darts suddenly covered his back and the large dragon slumped into a deep sleep...

Quicksand flew towards the volcano and saw a portion of a fortress guarded by more Followers and Quicksand flew towards the Followers and that's when he saw Oblivion fly out of a small tunnel and bowl Quicksand out of the sky...

Quicksand landed and rolled as the five spiked chain points stuck into the stone and Quicksand picked up a talonful of ash and threw it into Oblivion's eyes and he got hit by sleeping darts and was knocked out.

The Followers started to run forward but were put to sleep as well.

Quicksand turned and said, "The rest is on me, keep knocking out as many Followers as you can" 

Quicksand walked into the entrance of the fortress.
