Abbys POV

Walking along the mountain trail with Ellie and Dina on either side of me, I found it too quiet, so I decided to try and start a conversation to break the silence.

"So, how have things been while I was gone?" I asked.  "Things have been good, JJ got really sick about 2 and weeks ago, but he was ok." Dina replied.

"Ellie was taking care of him most of the time, because I was working around the farm to keep it in order, but she did the best she could, and I dont know if he would be alive without her help." Dina laughed, glancing over at Ellie.

"Oh shut up, you know I hate it when you're always talking nice about me." Ellie laughed.

"But you'd hate me if I didnt." Dina said back.

"True." Ellie remarked.

I heard a rustling noise in the bushes nearby, and decided to go check it out.

"Dina, watch my back." I whispered.  "You got it." She said back.

Crouched over, I approached the source of the noise, pulling out my pistol, keeping it pointed forward.

I came into a clearing, and started to turn around, keeping my pistol forward as I looked.

All of a sudden, a Clicker came out of nowhere, and tackled me to the ground, making me drop my pistol.

"Holy Fuck!" I screamed.

"Abby!" I heard Ellie scream.

"Help!" I screamed back.

The Clicker kept swinging its hands, trying to get past my arms, to bite my neck.

Just when I thought it was over, there was the sound of a breaking bottle over the Clickers head, and the sound of Ellies voice saying "Over here asshole!"  Giving me time to grab my pistol and shoot the Clicker in the face.

"Holy shit, Abs, are you ok?" Ellie asked, panting.

"Yeah, I'm alright." I replied, checking for bite Marks.

"You clean?" Dina asked.

"I'm clean, no bites." I replied.

"Where in the fuck did that Clicker come from? The area was clear last time." Dina panted, rifle in arm.

"I dont know, but we had better search the area to make sure there aren't anymore." I said, getting to my feet.

We searched the area, no infected, looking around, I heard the crunch of twigs nearby, and pulled out my crossbow.

We stepped into another clearing, and I saw 2 deer, no way I'd be able to get both without scaring the other away, I turned to Ellie.

"Get your bow." I whispered.

"Got it." She replied, drawing back the string.

"Take aim, fire when ready." I whispered.

"Now!" I shouted, the arrows hitting both the deer in the eye.

As we collected the arrows, and tied the deer up, Ellie turned to me.

"Abby, you ok?  What's goin on?" She asked with concern.

"Huh? Nothing, why?" I replied back, obviously knowing what was wrong, and not wanting to tell her.

"I can tell when you're off." She said back.

I sat there, crouched over, staring at the ground.

"Just talk to me, its ok." She said, putting her arm around my shoulder.

I snapped back, "I'm just worried about Lev, he hasnt really been himself lately." I sighed.

"Itll be Ok, we should get back, it's kinda late." She said.

"Ok." I said, lifting myself from the ground.

When we arrived back at the farm, Dina took the deer around the back of the house to take them to the meat storage shed they had built out back.

I entered the house, looking for Lev, and found him and JJ passed out on the couch, Ellie took JJ and put him in his crib, (he still used it since he had fallen out of bed a few times), and I picked Lev up and put him in Ellies bed, next to JJ's crib.

"They must've gotten worn out.  They look pretty peaceful." I sighed as I sat on the couch next to Ellie.

"Yeah, I bet Lev missed him." Ellie said.

"I think I might head into town before bed.  Maybe try to find Tommy and Joel, and catch up on what's been happening lately." I said, sitting up.

"If you're gonna go, you should get Lev and go now, soon it'll be dark, and not safe for you to travel." Ellie said, looking out the window.

"Yeah, that's a good idea.  I'll grab Lev and go, and I'll see you in town tomorrow." I said to Ellie and walked up the stairs.

"Lev, wake up sleepy head, were gonna head to town For the night.  We'll see them tomorrow." I said.

"Ok." Lev yawned as he sat up to put on his shoes and grab his backpack.

We headed off down the road, excited to see the town again after a month, smiling at the thought of being able to see my friends faces again.
