PAIN!!!!!!!

Then relief came abruptly and you realized there was screaming. It was you, you were screaming.

Why?

Everything seemed to be in pause...

You were in PAIN, but it finally stopped. It was reduced to minor aches now and you looked around as you whimpered and whined.

Where???

A skeleton sat in front of you, but you'd know his face anywhere. "dream?" you whispered, why was a skeleton from the fandom of a game you played in front of you, you were supposed to be dead.

Why couldn't you see out of your other eye???

"brother? i-it's gonna be alright, i-i have you" he whimpered, you realized he was kneeling infront of you and his gloved hand was rested on your cheek. You barely stopped your eyes from widening as you realized what was happening, you just got reincarnated with no warning. Into Nightmare, guardian of negativity and keeper of nightmares, no less. You decided it'd be best to play along, "w-what's happening? i-it hurts, dream" you whimper.

He frowns and you notice the tears that line the edges of his sockets, you try to lift one of your hands, though it pains you greatly, and you wipe away his golden tears.

"why are you crying, dream?", you were so confused but you turn your skull as you notice the figures behind Dream. It was the villagers, all of them, and they seemed to be frozen in fear as they gripped old farm equipment. "the villagers, what?" you question aloud, gasping in pain as one of your appendages twitched and writhed. It wasn't your arms though, nor was it your legs. You freeze, eyes wide as you look behind you.

Attached to your spine were six long smooth, tar black like tendrils. They laid in a twisted heap. Twitching and writhing on their own. You faintly notice the sour sweet taste in your mouth, resembling that of a ripe green apple.

Oh no.

nononononononononONONONONONONONO!!!

You turn back to Dream as he forces you to look at him, "it's fine, everything will be fine" he states firmly but you don't believe him. "d-dream, wh-" you swallow thickly, "what happened?", you're shaking, he freezes too and looks down but you can see the golden tears that stream down his face. "bro-", he chokes on his words, "you-you, the apple" he says, his hand falling to your shoulder.

You ate the apple...

You don't want to hurt him.

"dream!!!!-" you screech out as the pain starts up again, jolting the villagers from their shock as they begin to run away shouting insulting words. Dream hugs you as you begin to scream again, and you can feel him shake with sobs of his own.

Stop...

Stop

STOP

STOP

STOP

stopstopstopstopstopSTOPSTOPSTOPSTOP!!!!

The tendrils lash out at the fleeing village folk, impaling and dismembering them, none of them able to escape the wrath and fury of the appendages. You feel like you're being suffocated and it hurts.

Your LV increased...

You push Dream off of you and urge him to run, as fast as he can, as far as he can.

But he didn't make it too far.

He was forced down and dragged back to you by an insubordinate tendril. "no!!!" he screams and thrashs around in its grip. "dream!!!!" you call out to him, not wanting to harm him. The tendril holding Dream freezes before softing, and Dream begans to slow in his movements. He's in front of the tree stump, so close.

Stone crawls up his legs.

"dream", you tremble, dragging yourself over to him, ignoring the screaming pain. You cup his cheek as a memory flashes across your mind.

Two skeletons cuddling. "promise we'll be together forever?".

He, too, cups your cheek and brings your skulls together, the golden bands you both wear clinking together as you bumb foreheads. "it's alright, brother, you will see me again" he promises, letting tears drip down his cheeks as he smiles softly at you, closing his eyes as the stone begins covering his skull.

And so he sat there, one arm outstretched and hand in a cupping motion, the other tucked against his chest, kneeling. He looked perfect, like an angel, smiling in the sweetest and most loving way.

Still as stone.

As perfect as a statue.

Tears trailing down his cheeks.
