George stood up, looking around. He was on a beach. The sand met his toes, the water crashing down on his legs. He turned to his right. In the distance, a man stood. He didn't know why but he felt like something was drawing him towards the man. He started slowly walking over to the figure, leaving footprints in the wet sand as his feet pounded on the ground. The man was facing away from George. He was wearing a green hoodie with black jeans. George stood behind him, tapping him on the shoulder. "Excuse me?" The man turned to face George. A disturbing face met his eyes. It was Dream, except his face was mangled and greenish. He looked like one of the infected. He gasped in fear as he fell back, onto the ground.
As soon as he hit the ground he was in a new place. He was on a bed, Dream's bed. He didn't know if what he just saw was real or just a nightmare. "Dream?" He slowly walked outside of his room to see Dream and Sapnap standing near the couch talking. Their words were too quiet for George to hear. "Dream?" His eyes start to water. Why can't they hear me? He glanced over at the couch. His eyes met himself. Am I dead? He had forgotten what had happened until flashbacks started to flood into his brain.
He was running faster than he had ever run when he tripped. He fell to the ground as his machete dropped and hit his leg at just the right angle. Blood poured out of his leg as he tried to sit up. His leg went numb as he attempted to pull the machete out. He didn't react, his leg still numb, as he tossed the large machete to the side. He looked ahead at his friends who hadn't noticed him. His vision went blurry as figures started to surround him and growls started getting louder. His ears rang louder and louder until it stopped. His vision went black and silence surrounded him.

It had been a few hours and George wasn't awake. "Shit, Sapnap. What are we gonna do?" Dream had managed to slow the bleeding but it wasn't enough. Dream paced around the living room, hands on his head. "I- I don't know. It's not like hospitals are open." Dream snapped his fingers. "Yes. Yes. A hospital." Perfect, he thought. "Dream, there isn't any," Sapnap demanded. "No, there are medical supplies there. Maybe, some doctors too." Sapnap sighed, giving Dream a look of disapproval. "You saw what happened last time we went out. Next time it could be you or me." Dream scoffed. "Fine, I'll go without you." Sapnap exhaled, knowing that he wasn't going to make Dream less stubborn about this. "Alright." Dream smiled and put George in the back of his car. "We should have enough gas to get there. I hope." Dream shook his head. "That place is gonna be filled with those things," Sapnap said.
"It doesn't matter. This is for George. Everything I do is for George." Dream's eyes widened, realizing what he had just said. Sapnap looked over at Dream. "You like him, don't you?" Dream sighed. He didn't know if he should tell the truth or lie. "Y-yeah. I do. I like him a lot. I love him." Sapnap smiled. "I think he loves you too, Dream." A smile beamed onto his face. "I hope so." He shook his head. "We have to get going." Dream hopped in the front and put the keys in the ignition, starting the car. He started driving down the roads. They looked so unfamiliar now. He had lived here all his life yet it seemed like he had never been here before. They had never been this far out since everything happened. It was upsetting. Everything that Dream used to know was gone. All of the stores and shops he used to pass by vanished.
After about thirty minutes of driving past the isolated, empty streets they arrived at the hospital. Sapnap got out of the car, grabbing the backpacks out of the back. He tossed a backpack at Dream and put another on his own back. Dream threw the bag over his shoulder as he picked up George. Sapnap pulled out the bat with nails. "I guess we only have one weapon, shit." Dream grins. "No, I have something." He reached down and grabbed a pistol from the floorboard. "It's for emergencies only. A loud sound like that would bring every infected in the building straight to us." Dream adjusted George in his arms as tears filled up in his eyes.
They started walking slowly up to the large building, Dream behind Sapnap. They stood at the glass doors for what felt like forever before walking in. They didn't have much time. If they waited too long George wouldn't make it. They walked down the hallways and through the double doors. They expected there to be lots of those things to be in the building but there weren't. Just when they started to get comfortable with their surroundings about five infected turned around the corner. Sapnap jumped back, pushing Dream and George down out of the way. With only seconds to react, he grabbed his bat and hit one of the infected in the head, its soft skull crushed by the impact. "C'mon, man! You want some?" Sapnap screamed at the creatures as he swung his bat, hitting every last one of them.
He looked around, making sure that there was no more left, before turning to Dream. He rushed over to him, seeing George's condition. Dream lied there sobbing, arms around George. Sapnap checked his pulse. He was gone. "No, fuck. No, we still have time. If we could get one of those AED's we can save him." Dream wiped the tears from his eyes, determined to save George. They sprinted down the halls and up the stairs before seeing a group of doctors and nurses. "Stand back!" One of the doctors pointed a gun at Sapnap. "No, no. Please! Our friend needs help." The doctor turned his head to look at the boy being carried, adjusting his grip on his gun. "Annie, take this boy." A nurse, supposedly named Annie, ran over to grab George and took him to a room. Dream started sobbing and fell to the ground. He started hyperventilating, losing his grip on the oxygen around him. His vision blurred and then went dark.

Dream woke up in a hospital bed. He looked around and jolted up. Not a second after he woke Annie walked in. "Oh, you're awake." Dream scoffed. "Where is George? What happened? Is he alright?" Annie walked over and sat on Dream's bed. "You had a panic attack and fainted. As for your friend, we revived him. However, he's in bad condition and we don't have the proper supplies to get him back to normal." Dream started to cry. "What do you need? I'll get it." Annie looked over at Dream. "You really like him, don't you?" She smiled. "Is it that obvious?" He forced a smile onto his face as he messed with his hands.
"If you really want to help him we need a few things." Annie explained what they needed and where to find it. "Alright, I got it." He ripped off all of the tubes he was connected to and grabbed his bag. "Sapnap, let's go." Sapnap stood up quickly. "What do you mean? Go where?" Dream grabbed Sapnap's bag and his hand and started walking. "To get supplies. They can help George but they need supplies. Annie told me where to go and what to get." They walked out of the building as Dream pointed across the street to a small pharmacy. "There." Sapnap nodded and they walked across the street carefully, being quiet so they wouldn't attract any of the infected. When they get inside the building they looked around for what they needed.
Just as Dream stuffed the last bit of supplies into his backpack, a growling noise followed by a scream startled him. "Sapnap!" He sprinted over to the sound, seeing Sapnap on the ground wrestling with an infected. Dream rushes over to the creature, kicking it off his friend. The creature growls as Dream points his gun and shoots with no hesitation. It was scary. Dream's eyes had this murderous gaze in them but when he turned to Sapnap his face faded back to a familiar, friendly face. "Are you ok?" He put his gun down and lifted Sapnap. "Yeah, I'm fine. Thanks, man." Sapnap got up and grabbed his bag. "Got everything?" Dream looked at the list, checking to make sure everything was there. "Yeah, we're good to go." Dream and Sapnap quickly walk back to the hospital, wasting no time since the gunshot could bring an entire hoard their way.

After about an hour, George was stable. He woke up, confused by his surroundings. He was in a hospital room. It wasn't normal though. The lights were dim and the machines that were still running flickered. Annie walked into the room. "Great, you're awake. Your friends will be very happy to see you." George sat up. "What happened?" Annie sighs. "I think I'm going to let your friends explain." Annie walks outside the room to Dream sitting in the chair and Sapnap asleep in the chair beside him. Annie alerted Dream that George was awake. He figured that Sapnap needed some sleep and honestly he wanted some alone time with George.
He hurried into the room and practically threw himself onto George, being careful not to hurt his wound. The two didn't say anything, they just sat there. Dream held George close to him, listening to his heartbeat as he sobbed into his chest. Eventually, Dream's sobs turned into sniffles and he wiped his eyes, pulling away from George. "I love you, George." George's eyes widened. Dream had said that to him a lot but considering the circumstances he definitely meant it. "I love you too, Dream."
A/N: This was kind of a long chapter but I hope that you enjoyed it. The next chapter will be extremely important to the plot so expect some foreshadowing. I apologize in advance.
