Alice had been away for some time now, protesting. You honestly didn't mind her doing it, it was what made her happy. Some days you would go into the headquarters and sit with her whilst she worked. She was always so nice with everyone. But that was the bad thing about the movement, all the protests. You would usually go with her, but this time you couldn't because of work.

Sitting around for hours not doing anything was boring. When Alice had free time she would always call you but she hasn't even texted you today. Something must be wrong. You start to think of the worse scenarios. What if she got hurt? What if she ran away and didn't want me anymore? You shake the thoughts out of your head and get up to go to the kitchen. Opening the refridgerator, you reach to grab a bottle of beer and open it. You slouch on the couch and pull your phone out your pocket. Not one text from her.

Y/N: Alice is everything okay, I hope you're staying safe x

You text her, not expecting her to answer because of her inactivity all day.
Within 5 minutes, your phone lit up and you saw her name.

Alice 💖: Hey baby, I am sooo sorry I haven't been replying. It's just been so busy, I can call you now if you like? x

A smile spread across your face as you slide your finger across the screen to open her message.

Y/N: YESS! Of course I can x

Alice read the message and dialled your number.

"Hey baby, I miss you so much," Alice begins. "It's so nice to hear your voice again. Do you have any idea when you'll be back, this is the most I've ever missed you," you say with a glint of hope in your voice. "Y/N, it looks like I'm stuck out here for another week. Phyllis has organised another event," she mumbled with a hint of sadness in her voice. "Oh, well, I'll just have to wait until you come back won't I?", you say almost crying. "Baby please don't cry, I'll be home before you know it," she reassures you. "Alice, well I'm gonna go and make myself some dinner now. Tell the girls I said hello, I miss you so much," she sniffle. "Okay baby, have a nice night. Don't overthink too much, I hope you enjoy your dinner. I love you," she says waiting for your answer. "I love you too," and with that you hang up the call.

You can't help but cry, to think that you won't see her face for another week. You stand up and walk over to the kitchen and start boiling some water for some pasta. Grabbing the pasta and pouring some in the pot, you hear a knock at the door. Who's at the door at nearly 6 o'clock at night? Your little feet shuffled to the door and unlocked it. A soft smile came from Alice.

"ALICE," you basically screamed before embracing her in a tight hug. "I missed you so much," you cried in her ear. Alice dropped her bags outside the door and hugged you back. "I missed you too my baby," she whispers back, rubbing the back of your head. You pull back from the hug and lean in to kiss her soft lips. That feeling would never get old. "Why did you say you would be back next week," you pull back. "I wanted to surprise you, I hope you haven't been crying. Your eyes look puffy darling," she gives a warm smile and steps inside, picking up her bags. "I haven't," you rubbed your eyes and walked back over to the pot. "Do you want some pasta my love?" You ask her, stirring the pasta. Alice walks up behind you, wrapping her small arms around your waist and places her head on your shoulder. "I would love some."
