//REAL LIFE\\
*2 years and 7 months after Lyra is born*
"So? Do I?" Scorpius asked Harry, a 2 year old Lyra bouncing on his knee with a watery grin.

"Of course you do! I don't even know why you asked me" Harry chuckled as he went around the room cleaning up the toys that Lyra had left out all over the floor.

"I wanted to do it the right way, I know h'ed like it better knowing I did this" Scorpius smiled, his hand being pulled towards his young daughter impatiently in an attempt to be put down.

"Were going now! You can play later, baby" he explained kissing her forehead.

"Dada can we play now!" She said as she threw her arms out impatiently, the man stood up with a sigh as Harry watched on with amusement.

"Say goodbye to grandad, angel" he said, Lyra balancing on his hip at an odd angle.

"Bye bye granda!" She giggled opening and closing her little hands in a wave.

"Bye bye my little princess" Harry cooed back, tickling her chin and causing her to squirm mercilessly.

"Okay well, I'll let you know how it goes. You and Gin are good to have her that weekend?" Scorpius asked.

"Of course, just drop her off whatever time" he smiled and then the two said their final goodbyes before Scorpius set off for home.

*TWO DAYS LATER*

"Where are we actually going that requires me to wear a suit?" Albus complained as he made his way down the stairs from their bedroom.

"I told you, this restaurant is really fancy" Scorpius chuckled making his way over to his boyfriend "besides, you look absolutely breathtaking in this thing"

"Shut up, loser" Albus chuckled but the blush on his cheeks told a different story.

Scorpius fixed the cuffs of his suit and held out his arm for his boyfriend to take before apparating them right in front of a well lit Italian restaurant, the inside full of perfectly dressed people and what seemed to be the upper-class of society. Albus almost felt under dressed at the expensive looking furniture and decor.

"Bloody hell, Scorpius where are we?" He sputtered taking in the cobbles of the road and beautiful traditional looking building that littered the street.

"Rome" he said casually as though it was something to be expected, as though an impromptu trip to Italy was just something that happened.

Albus did a double take and looked at his boyfriend in complete astonishment, "R-Rome?"

"Yep, we're here until Sunday night, the BnB is all booked and sorted too so dont worry your pretty little head" he grinned cheekily despite the fizzles of nerves making their way up his spine.

"I-I- Thank you" Albus smiled warmly at his thoughtful boyfriend, "this is so sweet!"

"You deserve it after getting your art diploma, baby! I'm so proud of you" he spoke before kissing Albus gently on the lips "now lets go get food!"

Once the boys were seated in a corner booth away from prying eyes they spent the majority of their time kissing and being affectionate now that no tiny eyes were watching their every movement. It wasnt as if they had no alone time, because their family certainly took their share of days to babysit keeping them free to spend time together, it was just that most of their alone time was spent with work or with their friends therefor it was not often that it was just the two of them. They used this time to their full capacity and spent every second touching.

Their waitress took their order and they fell into a soft conversation about work and general small talk whilst they waited for their food. They couldn't believe that this year they had been together 4 years and soon the topic made it's way to that.

"4 years, Al" Scorpius sighed, dreamily "four wonderful years with the love of my life"

Albus blushed scarlet, "four years with the love of my life" he reiterated before placing a soft kiss on his boyfriends lips.

Eventually the food came and they ate every single bit it was perfect and delicious, Albus swore he'd never had anything as glorious. Afterwards they shared a rather large sized slice of tiramisu and designed to head out into the night air of Rome.

The summer was keeping the sun in the sky but it was reaching it's time to set as they ambled down the cobble streets. Scorpius seemed as though he knew exactly where he was going as he dragged his boyfriend all over he place. They made their way up a steep hill towards what seemed to be a viewing peak, the warm air threatening to suffocate them but the promise of a gorgeous view winning them over.

Albus stopped to admire the gorgeous view, his mouth agape at the beautiful dance of colours against the sky, street lamps flickering with glowing yellow and illuminating the cobble stones. He saw bikes leaning against the walls of buildings, pubs laden with guests both outside and inside, gorgeous olive vines in long tangles wrapped around the sides of buildings and the bustle of night seekers weaving in and out of each other. He sighed in contentment and turned around to tell Scorpius how beautiful it was only to find him on one knee in front of him.

Albus' hands shot up to his mouth and he gasped at the sight. Scirpius pulled out of his suit pocket, a gorgeous silver band with three small diamond stones encrusted onto it. Scorpius took a visibly deep breath and began talking.

"Albus Severus, we have been together for four extremely wonderful years and I could not have spent it any better. Every moment with you since that second on the train in first year has been an adventure, a terrifying but amazing adventure" he took another deep breath before continuing "you gave me my biggest dream, a family, and now I have a gorgeous daughter and we've created a wholesome family with your parents, James, Lily, my dad, Rose and Cara. I couldn't ask for a more perfect little life, I have my dream job, the perfect family and a gorgeous boyfriend to share it with. I was terrified of living my life before I met you, Albus severus Potter and I hope I never have to find out what my life is like without you. Ypure brave and funny, caring, kind, generous and incredibly talented not to mention absolutely gorgeous. With all that said, I have a very important question to ask you"

"Merlin is this happening right now?" Albus whispered, tears making his eyes glisten, bringing out the emerald green.

"Will you marry me?" He finally asked, smiling widely at his boyfriend who's hands were still firmly stuck on his mouth. They had gathered a small crowd of smiling bystanders now and the tension was building in anticipation of Albus' answer.

"Yes! Yes, of course I will" he laughed, pushing himself towards Scorpius in what could have been a tackle if the latter wasnt already prepared.

People clapped the two boys as they hugged, kissed and laughed. Scorpius took Albus' hand and slid the ring on his finger before kissing over it with a grin.

"I can't believe this is happening" Albus whispered into his boyfriends neck as they hugged for the 100th time.

"When I went to ask your dad for his blessing I told him just how scared I was youd say no but yet here we are, I dont know why I was worried at all" the blonde chuckled.

"You asked my dad for his blessing?" Albus almost cried again at the sincerity of the action.

"Of course I did, I wanted this to be done properly! I love you Albus" he punctuated his sentence with a kiss and the two boys walked off as the sun set in the beautiful city of Rome. Their hands clasped, a beautiful shining ring occupying the ring finger on Albus' hand and smiles on their bright faces.
