Together From The Start

Chapter 4

The next morning Makoto hurried over to Haru's house so that they can go to school together.   In front of Haru's house Makoto was about to open the door when he remembered their conversation the day he invited Haru over for dinner.

I wonder what Haru was trying to ask back then...He let out a deep sigh then thought, there's no point in bringing it up now since he probably won't tell me what it was about.

He finally opened the door and went straight to the bathroom where Haru was like always and he reached his hand out like always.

"Morning Haru ch-"

"Stop." said Haru while holding Makoto's hand before getting up.

"Right sorry." said Makoto as they walked out of the bathroom.

After leaving Haru's house they were on their way to school walking quietly side by side until Makoto grabbed Haru's hand out of nowhere which caught him off guard that he pulled his hand away out of embarrassment.

"Ah, I'm sorry Haru." Makoto looked at him for a moment but then looked away blushing.

Haru's eyes widened before looking at the embarrassed Makoto then he himself was blushing too when asking, "Why are you blushing too?"

"I-I don't know! I really wanted to hold Haru's hand..." Makoto told him.

"But someone might see us..." Haru looked around without saying anything else while Makoto looked around too.

"There's nobody around.  If someone shows up then we can run...okay?" Makoto looked at Haru once more, waiting to see what he would say.

Haru looked up at Makoto then looked down at his hand before grabbing it.  

"Okay."

Makoto had the biggest smile on his face after seeing Haru grab his hand.

At school when it was lunch time, the boys were discussing with Gou about what they should treat themselves to after all their hard work from training.   They were all throwing out some suggestions when Makoto said, "Oh I know, how about we go to the beach?"

"The beach?" Rei asked him.

Gou's eyes lit up as she gasped with excitement on her face.  "Yeah let's go to the beach!"

"Yeah, why not? The beach is really fun and relaxing plus we don't have to swim.   There's plenty of other things we can do at the beach." said Nagisa.

"Alright then is everybody okay with going to the beach?" Makoto asked them.

They all nodded in agreement then Rei asked him, "Are we gonna have to share tents again?" Makoto shook his head before saying, "No this time we'll be staying at a hotel that's close by."

"Sounds good to me!" Nagisa said happily before stuffing his face.

"Would it be alright if I invited one of my friends to tag along?" Gou asked him.

"Yeah, of course." Makoto told her.

"Who are we sharing rooms with?" Haru finally asked a question.

"Rei and Nagisa are sharing a room and so will Haru and I."

"Whaaaat? oh come on, I wanna share a room with Haru!" Nagisa whined and pouted.

"Why don't you wanna share a room with me?" Rei asked him after adjusting his glasses.

"Well that's because..." Nagisa looked at Rei then looked away.  "....If I room with you, you won't let me get a good night's sleep."

"N-Nagisa! you can't be saying things like that!" said Rei while awkwardly fixing his glasses and covering his mouth.

Meanwhile, Makoto and the others had no idea what those two were saying since they were having their own conversation.

Makoto sat back and whispered into Haru's ear, "For our next date how bout we go see a movie again tonight?" Haru just looked at Makoto after he whispered in his ear and then he nodded in response while Makoto smiled.

Later that day after school when they got home, Makoto said he'll meet him back outside in a little bit after changing out of their uniform.   Haru was the first one to head back outside after getting changed, he walked down the stairs and sat down on the last step waiting for Makoto.

At the sound of which seemed like small footsteps running down the stairs in a hurry came along two voices calling out Haru's name excitedly.

Haru turned around and saw Ren and Ran followed by Makoto who was slowly on his way down the stairs. He looked at them then looked up at Makoto before standing up while Ren and Ran clung to him.

"The little rugrats are coming too?" Haru asked him.

"Yeah, sorry they wanted to see a movie too." said Makoto.

After that they finally headed off to the movie theater to go watch a movie, they let Ren and Ran pick since they wanted to join them.

In the theater after getting their snacks, they began arguing about wanting to sit next to Haru until Makoto ended the argument by making them play Rock Paper Scissors.

Ran ended up winning so she sat next to Haru while Makoto was also sitting next to Haru.

That night after the movie was over and they were heading back home, Makoto kept looking at Haru wanting to say something but the words just wouldn't come out so he kept quiet until they were outside of his house. Makoto sent his siblings inside leaving the two to finally be alone to talk after not being able to say anything on their way home.

"I'm sorry they were with us for our second date." Makoto finally told him.

"It's okay, you don't have to apologize." said Haru.

"Okay then I'll see you tomorrow." said Makoto.

Haru responded with a smile and nodded before walking away.

Makoto followed him after he was further away so he could watch him as he thought about what they should do for their next date before their trip.
