The next day after school they had their swim practice like usual.
"Good work today guys!" Gou said, "I have to get going now so I'll see you guys tomorrow."
"See you tomorrow!" Nagisa yelled as he stood next to Rei. "Hey Rei can we walk home together?" he asked.
"Of course," Rei said, "but why do you even bother to ask when we've been walking home together already?"
Nagisa looked up at him and said, "I don't know maybe it's because sometimes you say you have other things to do so we don't walk home together sometimes."
"Well then just so you know I was planning to study when I get home." Rei told him.
"That sounds boring...don't you have anything better to do besides studying?"
"Well I guess there is-" Rei was about to say something when Nagisa interrupted him by saying, "Ooh I know what we can do!"
"Oh yeah and what is that?" Rei asked.
"I'll tell you later." said Nagisa before walking away to go change.
Rei sighed and looked over at the pool where Makoto was standing near the edge watching Haru.
"How long does he plan to keep on swimming, isn't he tired from practice?" Rei asked as he stood next to Makoto.
With a smile on his face Makoto said, "Come on you should know by now that he always does this." Rei laughed in response to what he said. "Yeah you're right. I don't know why I even bothered to ask."
He then said bye to Makoto before leaving while Makoto moved closer to the edge of the pool getting ready to help Haru get out.
"Haru let's head home." said Makoto as he reached out his hand to grab Haru's like he always does.
"Yeah okay." Haru responded.
In the changing room after Haru was done getting changed, he stared at his bag with his towel over his head while he was deep in thought.
So much has happened over the years and Makoto was always by my side through everything. I want to ask him out but I'm afraid to do it even though he's voiced his feelings for me a lot but what if his feelings have changed? Then what? I haven't heard him say how he feels about me in a long time so what does this mean? Is he waiting for me to say it? Fine then, if he is then I'll confess my feelings at the same place he did when we were in middle school.
Flashback Back in middle school there was a really special moment between them.
It was the night they finally talked things out after it had seemed like Makoto was avoiding him. They swam in their clothes at the Iwatobi Swim Club pool before they talked about what was going on recently and what made that night special was when Makoto confessed to Haru.

End of flashback
"Haru?" Makoto kept calling his name before going up to him and placing his hand on his shoulder.
Haru finally turned around after he felt Makoto put his hand on his shoulder. "What is it?"
"Are you feeling okay?" Makoto asked worriedly.
"I'm fine." Haru turned away but then Makoto stopped him when he noticed that his hair looked like it was still kinda wet.
"Haru you need to dry your hair properly."
Makoto grabbed Haru's towel and began drying his hair while thinking to himself.
He's been spacing out a lot recently I wonder what's on his mind.
They were finally on their way home walking in silence when Makoto finally decided to ask, "Haru...is everything okay?"
"Yeah why?" He looked up at Makoto who looked back but then looked away.
"Well it's just...you've been spacing out so I was just wondering what was on your mind."
"Not much...I was just thinking about that time in middle school when we went swimming with our clothes on at the Iwatobi swim pool."
No way, Haru remembers that too!? I was thinking about it the other day when I decided to look through a photo album just for the heck of it but I wonder how he'll react if I act like I don't remember that.
"We did something like that in middle school?"
"Yeah, don't you remember? it happened after some misunderstandings and that day you said something I would never forget.
"Really? I don't remember any of that but if that's something you remember then what did I say that day?"
It looks like Makoto doesn't remember anything at all from that time when we went swimming and his confession...
Haru turned his head in the opposite direction and said, "It's nothing."
I feel bad for making Haru sad but I wanted to see what kind of reaction he would have if I acted like I didn't know what he was talking about.
They awkwardly parted ways once they got home and when Makoto was in his room, he walked over to his window to see if Haru's light was already on but it wasn't.
He sighed and walked away as he got his homework out and focused on that before getting ready for bed.
Meanwhile, Haru was having dinner while working on his homework before sitting in his bath tub staring at his dolphin.
