Ch.7 Field Trip Day

3rd Person PoV

The view of the Beacon Academy student dorms, where Pyrrha Nikos looks out the window sadly as Lie Ren loads StormFlower and Nora Valkyrie is jumping on her bed in the room for Team JNPR.

Nora: "How come Jaune gets home so late?"

Ren: "He's become rather scarce since he started fraternizing with Cardin."

Nora: "That's weird... Doesn't he know we have a field trip tomorrow? We need our rest!" (she proclaims this while twirling in midair so her back hits the covers)

Pyrrha: (angrily) "I'm sure our leader knows exactly what he's doing."

Nora and Ren exchange glances, not knowing that Jaune himself is looking in through the crack of the door.

Nora: "Mmmm... I guess so."

Jaune hangs his head and closes the door, just as a voice interrupts his thoughts.

Soul: "Hey, Lady Killer!" (startled, Jaune turns around to see him in his Muscle Shirt and Pajama Pants, and he giggles at his reaction) Its been awhile!, Just What are you doing here?, you didn't somthing funny like lock yourself out again did you?

Jaune: "Oh, uh, nope!" (raises his Scroll, attempting to laugh) "Got it!"

Soul: "So! Where have you been? I haven't seen you around Class Lately."

Jaune: "I, uh..." (he tries to come up with something, but just sighs and lowers his head) "I messed up. I did something I shouldn't have, and now Cardin has me on a leash, and Pyrrha won't even talk to me, and..." (breathes heavily through his nose) "I'm starting to think coming to this school was a bad idea." (presses his back to his team's door and slides down to the floor in depression) "I'm a failure."

Soul: Lady Killer, We all Mistakes Sometimes it's what makes us Human, Hell even me... 

Jaune: (looking at him in surprise) What even you?!? but your Perfect?

Soul: "Absolutly Not! I'm not that Perfect, look, I swear when i'm pissed off, annoyed or even Exited, and I'm somewhat Stubborn, Now tell me what's Happening to you.

Jaune: I'm afraid Soul... I'm Afraid if I'm a failure at being a leader?"

Soul: (thinks about it for a moment, then gives his answer) Face your Fears Lady Killer, I was in the that same hole your in right now, before I came here I was Nervous as hell, I kept on doubting myself, Cause People have a High Bar for me, Being the Son of the Queen of Blades, my sister Lucy give me some advice you know what she told me?

Jaune: What did she say?

Soul: It"s a Leap of Faith, you can't know until you try.

Jaune: You know, you're smartest person to talk to about this kind of stuff.

Soul: Well... (as Jaune leans into the door some more) "Jaune, maybe you were a failure when you were a kid..." (Jaune groans and sinks lower to the ground) "... and Hell, you might've even been a failure the first day Rubes and I met you!" (he groans and goes lower still) "But, you can't be one now. You know why?"

Jaune: "Uhhh, because...?"

Soul: "Because it's not just about you anymore. You've got a team now, Jaune. All three of us do! And if we fail, then we'll just be bringing them down with us." (he gets up and paces Back-and-Forth as he speaks) "We have to put our teammates first, and ourselves second. Your team deserves a great leader, Jaune. And I know that can be you." (he walks over to his door and opens it as Jaune, now slightly inspired by his words, watches him wave) "Have a good night, Lady Killer" (he goes inside)
