"Father! Father have the owls come yet?" My small body carried me as quickly as it could handle as I hopped, skipped and jumped down the stairs of my home. For a girl who had just awoken, I was rather full of energy.As I turned a corner in my hurried state I almost collided with Dopsey, our house elf. "Do be careful Miss Celestia! Dopsey doesn't want Miss getting hurt."
She was a sweet little thing, but I was far too busy rushing to think about that right now.
"Sorry Dops!" I breathed out, suddenly pausing my jog and turning on my heels to face the small elf "Dopsey, where is my father?"
"Master Myradin is in the dining room Miss, Master said he is waiting for you" she smiled, whilst continuing to dust our many bookshelves.
"Thanks Dops!" And with that, I take off again down the final stair case that lead into our great entrance hall. I turned a few more corners and finally with a huff, my legs abruptly stopped me in the dining room.
Pausing in the doorway, I brushed my hands over my silk pyjamas as though to neaten them from all my running. I smoothed out my hair as well as lifting my chin up high, and continued into our dining room.
Father was indeed here, he was sat at the head of our huge dining table reading the Daily Prophet. Scattered neatly on the table in front of him was an array of breakfast treats, in the middle was a pot of steaming tea.
With a huge smile upon my face I strode towards father, placing a kiss on his cheek and sitting next to him at our oversized table. "Good morning father!"
He peered over his newspaper with a cheerful grin, "good morning Celestia my dear".
Politely taking a slice of buttered toast, I remembered why I was in such a rush to begin my day. Before I could even speak, Doyle, our owl, flew in through an open window and softly perched upon my fathers shoulder. My eyes lit up.
Father noticed my wide eyed stare and laughed to himself as he sorted through the morning post. "Goodness Celest, these are all for you!" He passed them to me, chuckling at the excitement on my face.
I tore open the first letter, it was beautifully written on perfectly folded parchment and wrapped with a sage green ribbon, this could only be from one person I thought to myself.
~~~
My dear friend Celestia,Celest, my Hogwarts letter came! Have you received yours yet? Mother and Father are beyond themselves with joy. They even let me have pancakes for breakfast!
I'm counting down the days until we're all together on the Hogwarts Express.
Owl me when you get your letter!All my love,
Daphne Greengrass
~~~My hands almost trembled with happiness for my friend, there was never a doubt that Daphne would receive her letter, at the mere age of 11 we already knew she was destined to be a fabulous witch.
The next letter was obvious, a crisp envelope sealed with the signature emerald wax embossed with a rather fancy looking "M". I knew who this one was from.
~~~
My favourite witch, Celestia,Guess who got their Hogwarts letter? I did and I bet you have too! Mother is already planning a day out in Diagon Alley for us, I can't wait to see you there my sweet.
I'll floo to you when Mother and Father have stopped fussing over me!Your favourite wizard,
Draco Malfoy
~~~Once again, I was filled with pride for my best friend. Since we could talk, myself and Draco had been best friends. Therefore I knew how much this meant to him, now I just needed my letter.
The next letter I opened was a luxurious looking dark envelope, the parchment smelt as rich as it looked.
~~~
My sister from another mister (and mother),Celestia my dear, mother cannot stop crying what do I do? I hope they're tears of joy, because I did receive my Hogwarts letter this morning. I expect you received yours too?
I must go and comfort mother, she has already picked out the perfect pair of shoes for you by the way.Owl me soon,
Blaise Zabini
~~~Blaise was just like a brother to me, since Mother passed away, Mrs Zabini has done so much for me and father. She always insists on treating me to the newest fashion. Just like with Daphne and Draco, I was overwhelmed with happiness for my group of friends.
My nerves only began to grow however.
I looked up at father again with big eyes, "anything interesting, darling?" He spoke so softly, reaching to place his hand on top of my small one comfortingly.
"Daphne, Draco and Blaise all got their Hogwarts letters father!"
"That's amazing! And yours, is it here?"
I looked down at the remaining two envelopes on the table, "I don't know yet" my voice almost trembled with worry, what if I never get my letter and my friends go without me? It had always been a dream of ours to attend Hogwarts amd rule the school together.
Suddenly father stood from his seat and kneeled next to my own. Taking my face in his hands, a serious look upon his face as he spoke with meaning, "Celestia Cynthia Myradin. We are descendants of Merlin himself, Dumbledore would be a fool not to want you at his school. They should be begging for you to accept infact! My darling you are destined to be the worlds greatest witch, it's in your blood."
Father could always make me smile when I was down, any worry that was in my head was replaced with excitement once again.
"You're right father" I sat up straight, father returning to his seat after placing a kiss upon my forehead. Holding my head high with generations of Merlott pride, I picked up another envelope.
This one looked aged. On the front, it read:
~~~
Miss Celestia Myradin .
The Myradin Mannor
~~~I was too thrilled to read the rest, flipping over the envelope, I saw it. The neatly stamped, scarlet red wax seal. This seal, was embossed with a crest I knew all too well. My excitement took over as I ripped into the letter.
~~~
Dear Miss Myradin,We are pleased to inform you that you have been accepted at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
~~~Attached to the letter was a lift of things I would need to begin my studies at Hogwarts.
"Well?" Father beamed down at me, he recognised a Hogwarts letter anywhere from his own studies at the school.
"I've been accepted!" I squealed as father picked me up and spun us around. My stomach was full of butterflies, but this time, the good type.
After we sat back down to finish our breakfast, I realised I still had another letter to open. It wasn't uncommon for me to receive lots of letters, the little time my friends and I spent apart we were for sure writing to one another. We had been inseparable from birth, with all of our families being very close it always known we would grow into the best of friends.
I studied the last letter, it wasn't one I recognised, but sealing the letter was a light blue wax seal with a crest I knew not of. I sent a questioning look to father, who encouraged me to open it as he didn't recognise it either.
Upon reading the contents, we learnt it was another acceptance letter, but this time, to Beauxbatons. Another amazing magical school, but in France.
