"i can't find my birthday outfit." i said.

"don't you got two??" she asked making me nod.

"girl— they in the dryer." she said then walked away from my door frame.

"malia...get up we gonna be leaving in a minute." i said shaking her and she opened her eyes.

"wait, did my mom say i could go?"

"yeah my mama been asked her." i said and she nodded getting up.

"okay okay." i watched as she tried to stand up.

this girl and her low ass iron-

"you good??" i asked as she looked through her bag.

"yeah."

i walked to the washer room and looked in the dryer grabbing my outfits.

i folded them then put them in my suitcase.

i came back in my room and malia was getting dressed,"i'm finna go check on mama and em." i said and she nodded.

"by time you come back i'll be in the living room." she said and i went into mama room.

"sahari still sleep??" i asked and mama pointed to journey who was doing her hair while she was sleep.

"i'm surprised she sleeping through that-" i said.

"chile she was up all night for some reason." mama said.

"well..." i walked over to sahari and started shaking her.

"na' if she start crying." mom said as sahari started sitting up.

she rubbed her eyes and stared at me before reaching for me,"not you acting nice." i said picking her up.

"hoping her hair last through this trip." mama said as sahari messed with her shoes.
