Valentine hadn't spoken to Lily in a week and a half. Remus had wanted to speak with Lily, but she'd been avoiding the group as if they had the plague.

Marlene was caught in between- she hadn't a clue as to what happened between Remus and Lily, being that she didn't know he was a werewolf. Even Macey was left out, and the two girls only assumed that Remus and Lily had an argument, and then Lily and Valentine had an argument about Remus' and Lily's argument.

It was all very confusing, and Marlene was back and forth between her boyfriend and her best friend.

Valentine had already told James what all had happened, and he'd listened thoroughly, giving advice. Valentine had told him that she felt slightly bad for going so hard on Lily, but in the moment she was angry at Lily for having the audacity to call Remus what she had.

And now the group was awkwardly spread out in Charms class, the room silent as they partners participated in silent work.

Valentine was diligently working, hoping to complete her assignment before class ended so she wouldn't have homework, however when she glanced up, she was caught off guard as she found James Potter's eyes drilling into hers.

Seeing that she'd finally met his gaze, he grinned before pulling his face into a silly expression, eyes crossing and eyebrows rising. Valentine bit her lip so she wouldn't laugh out loud, not wanting to distract the others from their work, especially in the deadly silent classroom.

Valentine's face turned red as she held in her breath, and her face in response to James' face made the boy himself crack up, resulting in both Valentine and James disrupting the class with loud and obnoxious laughing.

James shamelessly snorted, but Valentine attempted to disguise her laugh as a cough, but it was far too late as everyone in the class had turned to locate where the loud noises had come from.

Valentine scratched her head in discomfort as everyone stared. James sat straighter, clearing his throat.

"Is there something funny?" Professor Flitwick asked.

"I have allergies," Valentine nodded, spewing the words far too quickly to be believable. Flitwick looked to James.

"I-uh... I didn't mean to?"

Flitwick disregarded them and Valentine made a point to ignore James' for the rest of the class, not even responding when James had thrown a piece of paper at her forehead reading

Hi. I'm bored. Can we sneak into the kitchen for snacks after this? I really want food.

So when class had finally gotten over, James had found Valentine walking down the hallway and quickly joined her side.
