"Oh, Anita..." River said, almost a whisper.

''I am really sorry. She's been dead for a while. I told you to go!'' The Doctor exclaims.

"Lux can live without me, but you can't," River then approaches the Doctor and knocks him out. As soon as he falls to the ground, unconscious, River hurries and puts him aside, handcuffing one of his hands on an iron on the wall with handcuffs that she pulled from a black suitcase that was on the floor. As soon as she finishes handcuffing, she goes back to the black suitcase and takes out her diary along with her sonic and a vortex manipulator.

''This is where the fun begins,'' she thinks. Then she hooks up her vortex handler to Cal's computer system and sets it up so he can teleport her as soon as the countdown is over. It may not work, but she had to try. After all hope is the last to die, right?!

...

After awhile, the Doctor finally wakes up and sees that River is already sitting on the chair, finishing twisting a few strands.

(COMPUTER: Self-destruct in two minutes.)

"Oh, no, no, no, no. Come on, what are you doing? This is my job,'' The doctor said in exasperation.

"Oh, and I'm not allowed to have a career, I suppose?'' River responds.

''Why am I handcuffed? Why do you still have handcuffs?'' The Doctor asks confused.

''Spoilers,'' River responds seductively.

''This is not a joke. Stop it now. This will kill you! I would have a chance, you have none,'' The doctor said almost pleading.

''Oh, that man. He was right, it could really kill her, kill them both. Well, she wasn't risking the doctor or her timeline together. If anyone is going to die here today, it's me," River thinks. Although she was still hopeful. She really didn't want to die here, not today, but you never know.

She then looked at the doctor and said: "You wouldn't stand a chance, and neither would I. I'm timing the end of the countdown. There will be a failure in the flow of command. This should improve our chances of a clean download."

''River, please. No,'' The Doctor begs for the last time.

''The funny thing is that it means you always knew how you were going to die. All the time that we were together, you knew that I would come here. The last time I saw you, the real you, the future you, I mean, you showed up at my door, with a new haircut and a suit. You took me to Darillium to see the Singing Towers. What a night it was. The Towers sang and you cried,'' River said, never taking his eyes off the Doctor's eyes. ''He was so desolate,'' she thought to herself as she looked at him lying on that cold floor.

(COMPUTER: Self-destruct in one minute.)

''You wouldn't tell me why, but I think I knew it was time. My time. Time to go to the library. You even gave me your screwdriver. That should have been a clue,'' River speaks with eyes full of tears. The Doctor then tries to reach for his screwdriver, but fails.
