Roman sighs softly as he opened his dull forest green eyes, discovering himself to be in Janus's guest room. His eyes widened slightly as he went to sit up, his tears forming once again...that stupid nightmare again! He shuffled hesitantly out of the full-size bed and his bare feet gently thunked against the hard wooden floor, sending a shiver up the boy's spine. He'd been staying with Janus for a few months now, and...Had actually fallen for the other boy. He remembered vividly the night he accepted Janus's help, and he thanked the lucky stars he hadn't been dumb enough to deny Janus. As the male combed through his brunette hair, he smiled softly. He was shaking slightly, due to mainly cold and how scared he was. He was going to confess to Janus today, and the poor boy was more nervous than a man trying to find a needle in a haystack.
Janus, on the other hand? He hummed happily as he whisked the eggs together along with salt, pepper, red pepper, garlic, onions, chunks of cooked ham, parsley, and green peppers. Janus and Roman had always both been skilled chefs, knowing how to create a variety of dishes. The taller of the pair currently stood near the stove, dressed in a brilliant golden yellow polo shirt, with a loose black and white striped shirt underneath, paired with black torn skinny jeans and some checkered vans. The male hummed gently to himself as he melted some butter into a large skillet, made specifically for making omelets. He poured the mixture of eggs, ham chunks, and various spices right into the skillet. As the male waited for the meat to cook, He smiled and started working on the pancakes he made whenever Roman had a bad day previously or the evening before the current morning.
"Smells wonderful, lizard of oz." Roman's voice came tiredly from the doorway of the kitchen, followed by the signature slightly musical yawns that usually escaped the male, earning a chuckle from the other human in the room. "what are you whipping now, omelets?" he hummed quizzically, grabbing a small bottle of mountain dew from the fridge and looking to Janus as he unscrewed the lid and smiled, chugging part of the carbonated drink.
"Well actually, yes I am!" Janus smiled brightly and proudly, Janus always loved cooking. He was humming softly to himself as he cooked, folding the omelet perfectly the first try. Janus seemed to light up like the stars in a night sky, his smile widening and seeming to glow so brightly, the sun grew jealous. Janus looks excitedly up at Roman, his cheeks a soft pink as his hair bounced with him. "did you see that!? I folded it perfectly!" He smiled brightly, the yellow tips in his fluffy brunette hair bouncing as smiled and nodded at Roman's comment.
"I saw, my little darling." He teased, his smile not faltering as he stepped closer to Janus, his hands coming out from his pockets and him looking to Janus with a chuckle. "Awe~ is someone blushing~?" He chuckled a bit seeing Janus frantically go back to cooking. Roman walked past Janus and opened the cabinet, his smile never faltering as he looks to Janus and smiled softer, his face softening as a red lightly dusted his pale cheeks. He grabbed the disney mug he'd purchased from the cabinet and walked to the coffee maker, using the hot water inside to make a mug of passion fruit and mango tea. He used two tea bags, then while the tea steeped, he started to make his custom cup of boba. He noticed Janus had finished the food, and smiled softly. "you really dont have to cook all by yourself, you know. your allowed to ask me for help."
Janus seems to blink softly and shake his head gently. "I-I could never, song bird..." He mumbled softly, looking at Roman with a guilty and anxious expression. His eyebrows furrowed together when Roman had wrapped his arms around him, as he'd never really been hugged before. The touch seemed to cause his heart to ache as he hestiantly wrapped his arms around the other's waist. This felt nice, just the two of them...
That's when Roman's new phone went off with an alarm, and the two instantly parted, saying in almost perfect sync: "we're late for school!" and starting to rush around, Roman quickly wrapping up making his boba drink and hapharzardly throwing his backpack around his shoulders, huffing gently as he helped Janus with his coat. "there, now hurry!" He grabbed Janus's hand, a rosey red spreading across his cheeks, nose, and ears as he rushed out the door and down the street to Sanders Prep.
