Sherlock Holmes and John Watson walk down Baker Street. No one glances twice at the formerly dead consulting detective. They do stare a few seconds too long at the previously grieving doctor.

Sherlock silently stares at all of the buildings he missed so. John is very confused of why people are only staring at him.

John tugs on Sherlock's coat sleeve and Sherlock glances down at him. "Sherlock why are people staring at me?" John mutters.

Sherlock squints his eyes slightly and peers at the few people who stride past the two men. After a few moments of scrutiny Sherlock shrugs at John. John frowns but continues walking with the consulting detective. They reach the end of the street in about three minutes and turn around to walk back to 221B.

John is in deep thought all the way back to the flat. He doesn't have as magnificent of a brain as Sherlock, but he can deduce certain things.

"You're thinking quite hard over there, John."

John startles and turns his head to Sherlock. "A bit."

"What about?" Sherlock asks.

"Nothing important."

"Has your leg been hurting you again?"

John is silent for a moment. "Yes."

Sherlock nods.

"What, no clever speech? Go on. Tell me why it's been hurting again."

"Is it because I've been away." He doesn't form the sentence as a question, but uses the words.

John is stunned. "Yes," he murmurs.
