- A bit of a rewrite on this chapter, since I felt disappointed with how it came out. Hopefully, you agree with my changes!-

Waking up felt difficult, for once in Izuku's life, he wanted to remain asleep. Hands tugging the sheets over his head as the sunlight nagged him awake. With a huff of defeat, Izuku sat up slowly, minding his wounds.

He awoke to find the hospital room devoid of life. 'Was it really a dream? Did I imagine it all? But how did I get here?' Izuku lifted his right hand and used it as a shield for the sunlight. Grumbling about it being too bright, he hoisted himself out of bed. His feet barely functioning as he reached for the change of clothes nearby.  Someone had kindly put his vigilante costume away in a duffel bag. Changing into the comfy clothes he deceived the notion of going out the door but squashed that thought and left through the window.

The morning air nipped at his bare skin and sunk into his skin. Sending a small shiver through his bones and pulling the thin layer of clothing closer. He landed awkwardly on the ground but quickly recovered. Scurring across UA grounds, Izuku shimmied up the fence and over. Entering the safety of the city, his feet lead him home.

Head held low and arms wrapped around him. He continued his slow track home with feet shuffling along. Finally reaching Elms Street he walked past the closed doors of Sunshine. Eyes lazily gazing into the empty room. Finding not what he was looking for Izuku continued round back. Fumbling with his keys he entered his apartment, he always leaves his keys in a compartment located in one of his gauntlets. He just has to remember to use that compartment.

Knees buckling and he collapsed on the couch, eyes once again drooping closed.

The faint sound of shuffling behind him told of an uninvited guest. "Yes?" His voice was hoarse but the threat laced into each syllable.

"You really are a problem child."

"Eraserdad?" Izuku mumbled but didn't bother sitting up. "Was it all a dream or am I in a coma?"

"Definitely gonna be in a coma soon with the way you're going, kid!" Aizawa huffed. "Why did you walk off? You're supposed to be on bedrest till Recovery girl says otherwise."

"Oh." Izuku replied.

"I had a feeling you'd run off anyway." Aizawa's footsteps got closer. "Move over kid."

Grumbling 'this is my house', yet Izuku complied, shuffling up into an awkward sitting position.

"Those drugs haven't worn off yet?" Aizawa sighed and leaned back on the couch. "What went through your intelligent head that told you it was was okay to run off like that?"

"Because no one wants a useless, quirkless Deku so I just presumed I dreamed up that conversation with you and Present Mic." Izuku mumbled.

"Those are the drugs speaking for sure. What exactly did she give you?" Aizawa scanned over Izuku, worry was etched into his tone and face. "We do care about you Izuku and if Hisashi and I have to remind you every single day, we will! Now go back to sleep."

"But why? This has been bothering me for awhile now. You didn't plan this you just wanted to get me off of the roof." Izuku face turned and stared at Aizawa. "So why did you change your mind?"

"You knew." Aizawa murmured.
"Yeah." Izuku bowed his head, his fidgeting getting worse.

"I'd read about a new vigilante taking to the streets and I knew I had to get them off of the streets." Aizawa paused, a sullum expression on his face.

"By arresting me?" Izuku looked up with massive puppy dog eyes.

"Keep that weapon for someone who you really need to break, not me!" Aizawa playfully ruffled his hair. " But yes, I was going to arrested you, however, you were too fast for me. So I had to make a new plan and one that would have me win over your trust. I am not proud of it. But I was used to hero wannabes and how to deal with the ones who go rogue. I thought gaining your trust would be easy yet..."

"It didn't go as planned? I knew what you were doing by the way. I didn't bring it with you because I wasn't sure if it was still your plan. So I kinda  played along." Silence befell both males as the continued to enjoy eachothers company.

"When did you realize I actually meant it?" Aizawa asked carefully, arm wrapped carefully around the youngers shoulders.

"The porcupine incident." Izuku said, shrinking  a little. "What about you, when did the plan backfire?" A cheeky grin grew ever so slightly across his lips.

"The True God Incident. I thought you were going to die. I realised you had really grown on me when I sat beside your bedside, waiting for you to wake up." Aizawa gently pulled Izuku closer.

"I remember that one. It was scary." Izuku mumbled. "I nearly didn't make it back alive." He murmured the last part, but knew Aizawa heard it.

"Yeah, I'd hoped so! You nearly got sacrificed!" Aizawa scolded.

"It wasn't my fault they left the door open giving me the perfect opportunity to sneak in." Izuku pouted. "I've learned my lesson."

"Now that is a blatant lie kid." Aizawa said.

"I know."

"After you told me your mother died I began my plan to adopt you." Aizawa stopped when a green bush of a head slumped into his embrace. Soft slow breathing told him Izuku had fallen asleep. "You just never stop amazing me kid."

Aizawa remained in place waiting for Izuku to wake up so he could then call Hizashi to pick them up. Yet for now he would let the kid sleep, god's know he needed it too.

He had a son and his world was about to get brighter.
