The Red Scarf

One thing I've noticed about you is your red scarf.

Doesn't matter the weather. It could be the warmest day of the year and you'd still be wearing that red scarf.

It suits you. Matches your brown hair.

I can't really tell from where I stand, but it looks knitted. It makes me wonder if you knitted it yourself, or if someone in your family knitted it for you. For all I know, you bought it that way.

One time, it was windy, and your scarf came undone, but even with the muzzle, your Dalmatian caught it before it blew away.

You laughed, and I think that was the moment I wanted to get to know you. It was loud and musical and just amazing. I wanted to make you laugh like you did that day.

That day was also the day my friends noticed you, and I guess I wasn't too discreet about the way I watched you.

They teased me, and egged me to go and talk to you.

I wanted to. I did. But coach wouldn't want me to just run off from practice.

One day, I said. One day.
