A/N: Hey everyone, welcome to book 4! So as you can tell by the prolouge, this story is going to be one of twists, turns and heartache, but I mean do you expect anything different from me? Weekly updates are a must as I have seldom time to write. Because of this, I may have to take occasional breaks from publishing in order to write and for that I'm sorry. This book has been one of my favorite to write and also the hardest to write. Since a multitude of characters have been introduced, I find it hard to balance all of them as well as stay true to their character. Hopefully Avengers 2 helps me with that.

This book picks up about 5 months after the end of Destroyed Beauty

So without further adieu, here is book 4, Distorted Beauty.

The long twenty minute walk from Stark Tower to her apartment would soon be nothing more than a painful nightmare that her feet would be all to happy to forget. After being asked relentlessly, she had finally agreed that tomorrow, she would move into her fiancé’s apartment which was a brisk five minute walk from Stark Tower.

Jacob Walker was the man that everyone wished to be with. His short cropped black hair, slight stubble and piercing brown eyes that watched your every movement. It was even said that his smile was what charmed Director Fury into letting him join S.H.I.E.L.D. Of course, that was only a rumor. He had joined S.H.I.E.L.D shortly before the Avengers Initiative and had been on call during the incident in New Mexico. Since then, he had become a commanding officer within S.H.I.E.L.D., specifically the one who saw to the new recruits and trained them. That was how he met Iselda.

Iselda Faye had come to New York but only a few months ago, or at least that was how far back she could remember. Having undergone an extensive surgery after a traumatic incident, she had started over under the watchful eye of her rescuers. For some time, she had lived with the group that had saved her, but had grown irritated with their constant questions, slip-ups and sad glances - she could only take so much pity. She had moved out a month after she had awoken in the hospital bed of their medical bay into an apartment down the street not too far away from the tower.

It was then when the owner of Stark Tower provided her a job that she first met Jacob. Iselda worked as a daycare facilitator for the people who worked for S.H.I.E.L.D. It was always surprising to her how many of the workers for the top governmental agency did not have children. Only in recent months had S.H.I.E.L.D. returned to the public light as it was now under new management of the form of Tony Stark, the owner of the very tower she worked at.

The month of May had been pleasant so far, so much so she had thought of having her wedding in May rather than the end of June, but the date had been set. Her thoughts began to jumble along as she wished Pepper, Tony’s girlfriend, would call her on an update on the florist, the cake and a slew of other appointments that had been made. Iselda’s heart leapt when she heard her phone ring and she glanced at the caller ID.

“Hey.” She said quietly as she continued her walk towards her apartment. “You’re out early.”

A deep hearty chuckle came over the other end of the receiver. “Nah, I just told Stark I had to head over to your place to finish packing, which he said that I’d better get going now.”

“Jake, I’m perfectly fine with packing my own things.” Iselda scolded.

“Riiighhhttt. Izzy, you don’t have that much stuff and yet you’ve still managed to not have your apartment fully packed in the past three weeks.”
