Episode 4 —The Last Picture Show— {Part 1}

It's been a week since the discovery of Jason Blossom's body. But his death would not be the first, nor would it be the last casualty that the town of Riverdale would suffer. The Twilight Drive-In, where I work; my home away from home. A piece of town history is closing for good, just when we needed a place to escape to the most. With Sheriff Keller knocking on every door, and neighbor suspecting neighbor, every day that passes is becoming more like Salem during the witch trials. And meanwhile, the girl next door, our friendly neighborhood Hitchcock blonde, Betty Cooper, was wrestling with the knowledge that her best friend Archie Andrews was caught up in a forbidden romance.

"The drive in closing, it is just one more nail in the coffin that is Riverdale." Jughead ranted on. "No. Forget Riverdale. In the coffin of American dream. As the god father of indie cinema, Quentin Tarantino, likes to say" then i cut the boy off. "Jughead i love you, but please for the love of good quit it with the Quentin Tarantino references. My head is going to explode." "Thank you, Y/nnnnn. I felt the exact same way." Kevin says letting out a sigh.

"What? I'm pissed. And not just because i am losing my job. The Twilight Drive-in should mean something to us. People should be trying to save it." jug says continuing to rant on. "In this day and age of Netflix and VOD, do people really want to watch a movie in a car? I mean, who even goes there?" Veronica asks. "People who want to buy crack." Kevin say.  I try so hard not to laugh at that, the way he said to was hilarious.

"And cinephiles and car enthusiast, right, Bets?" Juggy says. "Ya, totally." "Anyway, it is closing because the town owns it but didnt invest in it. So, when an anonymous buyer made Mayor McCoy an offer that she couldnt refuse" i say to then be cut of by V "an anonymous buyer? What do they have to hide? No one cares." "I do!" Jug and i say in sync.

"Also you guys should come to closing night. I'm thinking American Graffiti. Or is that too obvious?" Jug says "I vote for anything starring Audrey Hepburn. Or Cate Blanchett." Veronica says. "Or The Talented Mr. Ripley. Betty you choices?" Kevin asks. "Everything ok, B?" I ask. "Yeh, yeah. I'm just thinking. Um... I don't know. What about you, n/n?" The girl ask. "Let me think... maybe Rebel Without A Cause?" I say looking over to the jones kid.

Then the food comes over. "Food, how I missed you. Thank you, miss, lodge." I say giving her a half smile. We sit there talking for a little bit unlit the door rings. "Well, that is an odd group of people." Kevin says.

I turn over to see, then Andrews family and then the music teacher... Ms. Grundy. Oh, shit. Please tell me that Fred did not find out about the little secret relationship that his boy has. I look over to jughead. You could just tell that he was thinking the same thing that i was. This was bad. Really, really, bad. Plus, since Betty is like a little detective, she most likely already knows about this stuff and might confront the redhead boy and make this 2000 times worse.
