Hello! Now that you know it's an author's note all of you instantly averted your eyes from this text. Anyway...... I just wanted to tell you that this is chapter 20!!! I'll probably end this book soon and start the sequel, if you want a sequel. Comment if you want this story to be continued, or you want me to end it and work on my other books. P.S. Once this book is finished I'll start working on Carbon Copy, so SOR's sequel won't happen for a while.
I stand and stare for a second and Aaron yanks my hand, dragging me behind him. Are they here for me? Will they take me back to Camilla?
Aaron's voice awakens me from my thoughts, "Come on! Celeste, snap out of it!"
I look at his face, it's contorted, but I don't know if it's in fear or not. I pick up the pace, but still cling to Aaron. The guards are gaining on us, the thump of their boots getting louder. Civilians look at us with wide eyes and sneers.
"Oh Crap," I hear Elexia mutter.
"What?"
"They have back up."
I look up. There are hovercrafts blanketing the sky and in the streets there are cars.
"What do we do?" I yell over the screams of the crowd, "Can we teleport back to the hotel?"
"No, too many people will see, " screams Celene.
"Go into that building," Elexia yells. It's an abandoned skyscraper. The guards spot us and run after us.
"What now?" I ask.
"They want us dead. They're prepared to kill us." Celene states, "We need to Celeste out of here safely. Aaron and Lassandra will go with her while Elexia and I will stay here. We'll meet you at the warehouse where the ship is."
Before I could say more Aaron drags me away.
"Where are we going?" I ask Aaron.
"Back to the hotel."
"Are we teleporting?" I inquire.
"No. It's too close to the guards," he answers.
We dash out into the street, sprinting towards the hotel. As we race through the lobby we get stares and odd looks. Finally, we are in the safety of our room.
"What should we bring?" asks Lasandra.
"Everything we brought," answers Aaron.
I run into my room with a bag and stuff in my clothes and alias information. Then, I run into Elexia's room and stuff in her clothes, alias information, and her net screens and computers.
"I'm done!" I call.
"Good! Let's-"
"Open up! We are her royal highness's guard. Celeste Smithe, Aaron White, and Lassandra White you are wanted for identity theft and flying over restricted territory. Come out with your hands up. We WILL shoot to kill," an ominous voice echoes into the room.
We look at each other, expressions of fear plain on our faces. My breathing quickens and my heart speeds up. I just want the guards gone. The items of the room swirl around in a vortex and slam through the door. All I see is the guards' scared expression before the vortex collides with them, pounding them into the next wall.
"Are you okay?" Aaron asks me quietly.
"I-I-I want to leave." I say quietly.
Aaron nods,"Okay. Let's go."
We run out the door all of the guards lay unmoving, except for one. I feel a searing pain in my leg and see a bullet buried in my calf. I gasp and fall.
"Celeste!" Aaron yells.
"Aaron!" I call out.
"Come on! You can make it!" he yells, his eyes wide, pleading me to stand up.
I muster up courage and start limping forward, the guards getting closer, and closer. An eternity passes before I finally see the warehouse. My vision starts to get blurry, Aaron notices and throws me over his shoulder. I wrap my arms around his neck and hear Elexia's and Celene's voices and the closing of a door before unconsciousness pulls me under.
