Lighting is Overrated

The doors open revealing an illuminated,  marble tiled hallway.  Light streams in through elaborately decorated, golden windows.

"What's the room number?" Aaron asks.

Elexia glances down at the room key, "42."

Aaron walks up to the second door on the left, "It's this one. "

Elexia walks up and slides the key into the slot.

"Welcome Ms. Jensen and company, " I jump at the sound of the  mechanical voice, "I hope you enjoy your stay. "  The door opens revealing an immaculate, white kitchen and living room.  I also spot three doors on one side, and two on the other.  Intrigued, I open one.  Behind the door lies an elegant bedroom.  A netscreen takes up a whole wall, the bed is made with shimmering silks, the room is a serene blue, and a private bathroom is connected, complete with a pool sized bath.

"Do we each get our own?" I yell, running from the room.

"Yeah," Aaron smiles at me.  I feel my eyes grow big and excitement bubbling up inside of me. "Yes!!!" I yell,  then the room goes black.

Everyone except Celene sighs. "Sorry!" I say sheepishly.

"I couldn't have a  normal family,  no, they just have to have mind control powers,  and the ability to create a black out because they are happy!"  Elexia says  sarcastically.

"I'm sorry!"

"Just.... Bring it back....."

"Ummmmm.... How?"

"Guys, lighting is overrated anyway!" Celene shouts.
