'You Have Some Explaining to do'

The next day, Jennie and Chaeyoung found themselves sitting in Jackson's living room. Jackson's fiancée, a sweet girl named Iris, let them in before leaving for work. Jisoo couldn't join them as duty calls for her too.

Jackson looked at the two girls with a bit of uncertainty. Jennie looked hurt and betrayed.

And there never was anything more heartbreaking than seeing the raven haired girl like that.

A sharp contrast to that was Chaeyoung, who was glaring at him with full force anger.

And nothing in this world was scarier than an angry Park Chaeyoung.

"What can I do for you ladies?" Jackson greeted them, deciding to fake a smile on his face, the two were clearly upset about something.

"So I hear you took your girlfriend out on a date once at that club on the third?" was Chaeyoung's opening line.

And with that, Jackson knew what the two were upset about.

"Ah, so you saw her then." Jackson said before taking a deep breath looking incredibly apologetic.

"Care to explain yourself?" Chaeyoung pressed on.

Jackson glanced quickly between the two ladies, unsure where to start.

"Look, I don't know much." Jackson started. "We went there, Iris and I, and I saw the house DJ, recognizing her at once as... well... Lisa..."

"Aha! So you admit it! And you never told us anything, you lying scheming..." Chaeyoung started before Jennie decided to cut her off.

"Let him talk Chaeng."

"But Jennie –"

"We don't know the whole truth." Jennie reasoned. "You were saying Jack?"

"Well, I tried doing some investigating of my own." Jackson started. "I tried approaching her that night, but she was incredibly popular and she had bodyguards hidden everywhere."

"Wait, what?" Jennie asked interrupted.

"Yeah, I found that out the hard way a little later on." Jackson continued. "Anyways, I dropped by the club at an earlier time the next day to speak with the manager or someone that had anything on the DJ. I said I was a fan. Apparently, said DJ is the owner of the club, well, her and her... er..."

"Whoever it is she's with now." Jennie finishes for Jackson.

Jackson nodded. He didn't want to say anything that would upset Jennie even more.

Especially because he knew.

He knew how much Jennie loved Lisa.

He always knew.

And yes, it was selfish of him to try and hold on to whatever he and Lisa had for as long as he could, even when he could see the DJ had fallen for the feline eyed girl too.

Until, of course he realized he was standing in the way of something true, something he wanted to find someday too.

And he understood he had to step aside and give way.

So when he saw Lisa again, alive and well, he figured it would be the best way to right his wrongs.

Bring her back to her family and her friends.

To Jennie.

"I tried to find out more, but I couldn't. So, Iris and I went back to the club with some friends. When I spotted Lisa, I decided to keep my eye on her until she was done, but that was a rare chance. Anyways, I seized the opportunity when it finally arrived, that's how her bodyguards ended up hauling my ass out of the club, banning me for good."

"How come, what happened?" Chaeyoung asked.

"I tried approaching Lisa, but she didn't recognize me, I tried getting her attention again and when I did manage to grab her hand, I was hauled away." Jackson elucidated.

"But why does she have bodyguards?" Jennie exclaimed. "She didn't have bodyguards around when we bumped into each other in the record store."

"Oh, they're probably around, you just didn't see them. Lisa's current beau is from an influential and powerful family. I don't know much about the details, I only have a name." Jackson said. "And hang on, you met her at the record store? Which record store?"

"The one near our place, and yeah we had a bit of interaction." Jennie answered.

"How is she?" Jackson dared to ask, unsure how Jennie would react.

From what he could tell, the raven haired girl was very sensitive about the subject.

And Jackson couldn't blame her.

"Typical Lisa, only you know, I'm not sure she knows that." Jennie answered truthfully.

Jackson was about to ask her what her interaction with Lisa was like but Chaeyoung groaned before Jackson could say anything else. "Can we go back on the topic here? What's the name Wang?" Chaeyoung demanded.

"Dr. Ivanka Smilenko I believe, if I heard the manager of the club correctly."

"Oh boy." Chaeyoung then let out.

"What? Do you know something Chaeng?"

"I've heard that last name before. If I'm not mistaken, the head of the family is an incredibly powerful business magnate. His got two children, a lawyer –my dad's had dealings with their firm –and a doctor –their family also has a few private hospitals around the world."

"So Lisa's in bed with powerful people. Excellent, now we know why Lisa's able to live her life without any of us knowing for the last five years." Jennie said, her tone rising with every word she said.

Chaeyoung tried to calm Jennie down, tears welling up in her eyes all while Jackson wasn't sure what to do.

What Jackson did know with all certainty was that Jennie was trying to deal with this the best she could, sort herself out with all her emotions.

He went through the same phase.

Because Jackson knew for sure that the girl he saw was Lisa.

He just couldn't get near her to confirm everything.

"You still should have told us Wang." Chaeyoung then said.

"Well, I didn't want to build your hopes up. What if in the end it wasn't Lisa? I would have taken her away from you a second time around if that were the case." Jackson argued.

"Yes, but we could have done something." Chaeyoung persisted.

"Like what Chaeng?" Jennie scoffed.

Chaeyoung was about to reason to Jennie when Jackson decided to cut her off. "Like getting her back... to us... to you."

Jennie looked at him confused and at a loss, Chaeyoung a little too. But Jackson was on a roll so he decided to go with it. "I'm sorry Jennie. I feel responsible for this. If I never stepped in, if I didn't... Jennie, you and Lisa belong to each other, I see that now. So yeah, you have my help. We're going to win Lisa back." Jackson said, his voice calm and resolute.

It was only the way for him to right his wrongs.

Especially now that there is a new hope.

Because Lisa should come back to where she belongs.

To who she was supposed to be with.

Jennie nodded gently but unsure. "But what if she's happy with her life now?"

"Jennie, her life now is a lie if she's not living the truth." Jackson argued.

"So we'll find Lisa? Fight for her?" Jennie asked.

"If it's the last thing we do Jennie." Jackson reassured her. "We'll bring our Lisa home."
