~𐀔chapter thirty-three𐀔~
your father stared at you with an unreadable expression though you could tell from his set jaws that it wasn't anything good he'd be saying.
your mom started off with pleasantries, asking how was school and all but only to get to the argument.
You didn't believe that it was because they cared or anything. In fact she seemed to be watching you for anything else rather than your answer.
as if you were some suspect to a crime.
'just say what you need to say already.' you were getting impatient, restless even that you had to be sitting there with them when you weren't that close.
"of course we haven't been around for a while so many things in your life we're completely clueless about. so we just have to check in to get informed. So if there's any issue or any problem you're having, you can tell us you know" your mom said looking away from you to stir at the tea in her cup as if she was trying to distract herself.
What?
"ah thanks mom. I'm fine" you said and her eyes found yours again.
"you're not in any problems. Any tough spot?"
"No?" you answered, quirking your brow.
"you know if you're in any situation you're stuck in, your father and i have no problems in finding ways to help you. even if it's...dangerous" she said staring at you as if waiting for you to slip up once more and your raised your brows now; slightly appalled, slightly annoyed, slightly humored.
"Mom. I appreciate the offer. But there is nothing wrong. You don't have to help me out of any drug deal or prostitution or anything if that's what you're implying. I'm okay-"
"Ah so you're stealing" your father finally spoke, his impatience finally wearing thin and you furrowed your eyebrows as you met his gaze.
"(father's name), you said you wouldn't say anything" your mom scowled at him since it seemed they had both planned to resolve the situation calmly.
feeling a vein pop in your forehead, you realized there was no way it would return to that path.
though you didn't take much features from your father other than his hair color, in attributes you had the same low tolerance, impatience and anger issues as him.
you were so alike that talking to him was a pain.
even the best of conversations turned into arguments. you didn't hate him, but your relation with him was most peaceful when you both didn't interact at all.
