Day 9 - Beach Day!

The sun was rising over Grace Field Village, but the peaceful calm of this steep valley had already been shattered by the excitement generated by the day's program. For the first time in their young lives, all the children who had joined the human world were going to discover the beach and the sea. It was a highly anticipated day and they were all already bursting with energy, big and small, they were all already ready, breakfast swallowed in a split second and smiling up to their ears!

It was also the occasion for everyone to take the train, the Ratri clan had almost rolled out the red carpet for them and they had a whole wagon just for them, it was difficult to contain them but nobody came to challenge that, it was their day, their moment, nothing could spoil that. They had disembarked and were only a few minutes from the beach that their allies had made available to them. Everyone was impatient and the older ones were having a hard time containing them, but frankly who could blame them knowing that even they were very impatient... And the moment came when all the children had taken the small path to the beach, they all started running without stopping, with Emma in the lead and a few hundred meters further on, At the top of a small hill, they were there and Emma had stopped sharply followed by everything else to let herself be overwhelmed by the beauty of the place... A cove with a fine sandy beach as far as the eye could see with clear, limpid and bright blue water... A blue that reflected and completed itself with Chris' blue eyes. The boy was the first to crack, letting tears of happiness run down his cheeks and the thoughts that came with them and were just waiting to come out of his mouth :

Chr: All this journey... All these difficult moments, this suffering combined with our will, for this kind of days... We did the impossible and today we can enjoy... This day is ours, let's make this day an unforgettable moment.

With this simple tirade, the young boy had managed to make all his brothers and sisters cry with happiness, but the tears were only temporary and Don had taken care to start the festivities.

Don: We're not going to just stand there anyway? Come on everyone, follow me!

And everyone rushed like one man to the beach, time to settle down, to take out their stuff, and everyone was already in the water, enjoying life as they should have done since birth, without constraint, without fear, without having to go through what they had to go through. They could now live as they wanted, all of them with each other... It was the dream life and they were in the process of making their dreams a beautiful reality.

Their day was going well, everyone had his little activity, it was a set of scenes and warm moments, Yvette contemplated them all and reproduced the scenes on a painting so that she could display it on the walls of their big common house. Emma, Violet, Gillian and Gilda were swimming. Thoma, Lannion, Nat, and Phil had taken masks and snorkels so that they could observe the fish in the area. Chris and Dominic were playing and Tom was teasing them, he had taken the ball from them, but Dominic had been sharp and had blocked his arms in the air and Chris was taking revenge on the boy by tickling his ribs. Alicia, Jemima, Marnya and Nina were making sand castles, Jasper, Vivian and Hans were playing racquetball and among them was Ray, alone on the sand, smiling and watching his whole family enjoy life, Chris, Tom and Dominic's were coming back from the water and Chris came up behind Ray to hug him, which his two brothers had done the same.

Chr: We made it Ray, and you have the privilege to be able to see that too because you didn't sacrifice yourself for us.

Ray had lowered his eyes because the tears rose quickly.

Ray: Yeah... we all made it, I thank you for having motivated me to succeed...

Chr: I'm happy, I'm with my whole family and I know that you, Norman and Emma are with us when it might not have been the case?

Dom: ...Yeah, we made it all together and what makes us happy is that nobody will have to suffer anymore...

Tom: ...and that nothing in the world will ever make you unhappy again, you are freed from your sorrows and regrets.

Nothing more? I left behind me years of nightmares and suffering, also precious friends, but there is only one thing I really regret... Ah I would have so much wanted you to see that too... No! Not today, it's a day for us to celebrate and fully enjoy, I have other moments to think about it, I'm enjoying my life today!

Ray: Thank you boys, I love you all very very much.

One hug and the three young boys were off having fun again... Ray loved those three because their close-knit friendship reminded him very much of Norman, Emma and himself, the kind of friendships that never erode over time, or what life and hardship throws in your face... Their lives have been hard, Their certainties have been turned upside down many times, but today they have been able to take advantage because their will to succeed has never wavered and the obstacles that this world considered cursed and unforgivable had thrown in their face, never succeeded in bending that will, not even by a millimeter.

That day obviously and unfortunately had come to an end, and despite the cries of some because they had to leave, everyone was happy, and the memories they built today will remain imperishable.
