Day 6 - Confessions

It had been a few days since something was going on at Grace Field Village, there was a kind of tension, nothing bad but love was in the air.

Several duets were forming in the orphanage, nothing more normal as Valentine's Day was approaching, Don and Gilda were (as always) staying with each other most of the time. Anna and Nat had really gotten closer and even in the younger ones, little loves seemed to surface. Only the trio was undecided, as it could go in any direction: Norman and Emma, Emma and Ray, Ray and Norman... Their level of complicity since their earliest childhood was shattering the ceiling and none of the three alternatives would be really surprising for everyone else. Each had good reasons to propose to the other, but none of their siblings really knew the intentions of each of the three elders, so speculations were running high. Three-quarters of the orphans saw Norman and Emma both end up with each other when the day came, a minority saw Ray end up with Emma, and only five saw Norman and Ray being made for each other. These five children were the trio of Chris, Dominic and Tom and also Damdin and Sherry.

None of the three had betrayed any sign of preference towards the other one, they seemed detached and not giving importance to this day but the reality was quite different at least for one of the three: Ray. The boy usually so cold and distant hid his game well, so much so that almost all of his family saw him alone. It must be said that the boy had had to learn to remain impassive in any situation, he who was for a long time the only one to know the secret of the orphanage where they lived years ago... Yeah, it was necessary to deceive Isabella's vigilance and even as soon as he admitted that he knew everything, He still had to remain imperfectly careful to keep his escape plan intact... If he knew that many years later, all his preparation would be swept away by Emma and her unfailing altruism and Norman's sometimes too extreme genius...

Norman... the one that Ray could never surpass, the genius that no generation had ever been able to procreate, even Phil never reached the level that Norman had, and yet the little boy was described as the future greatest product of Grace Field House... that thought had put a sly smile on Ray's face... Neither Phil nor Norman had to be tasted by those who ruled over this despicable world, they were now safe in the human world and no one could ever again cause them the slightest worry.

Ray was racking his brains, he was really torn between Emma and Norman, he was torn between them and he would often tell himself that the best thing to do was to do nothing in the hope that they would do the same but he knew that it was impossible, if he stayed on the sidelines, the other two would end up as a couple, and he didn't want to regret his choice... He had ended up choosing Norman, he knew that Emma wouldn't take that into special consideration because she had always loved them like two brothers, and it was a little bit the same for both of them, they loved her as if she were their little sister, it was a brotherly love that didn't stem from any blood ties between those three.

The days had passed and Valentine's Day had arrived, everyone was giving each other little gifts and some couples were starting to form, the first to cross the threshold were Tom and Nina to the general surprise, the two children, now 5 and 6 years old, had decided to spend the day in a park together. Others hadn't waited until the end of the day to admit it like Jasper and Vivian or Alicia and Mark. Anna and Nat as well as Gilda and Don had also taken advantage of the day to spend time together. Others had no partner so they decided to spend the day with best friends like Chris and Dominic or Thoma and Lannion. In the end there were only the three musketeers, the inseparable ones, together again but Ray had only one idea in mind. He had taken Norman's side before telling him what he had in his heart with frankness faithful to his personality.

Ray: Well listen Norman, I'm not going to beat around the bush, for all these years we've come a long way, we've escaped our cruel fate and we've made our way through a world that was hostile to us to make a place for ourselves in a world that we don't even come from. And from the day you came back to Emma and me through that impasse, something has changed... That day I cried for you and expressed my gratitude to you for proving me wrong. We got through all your messed up plans and we will never have to worry about the survival of our family again... And in the story, I realized that the feelings I had for you were more than just friendly and brotherly feelings, it was true love, I don't know if your genius brain can understand everything but it's the truth... I love you, stupid Norman.

The blond boy was speechless for a few seconds, but he finally showed that characteristic smile before answering him just as sincerely as Ray did.

Nor : Well, from the day of my shipment, my only goal was to find you two back, and I wanted to make sure you didn't do the same stupid thing you were planning to do... Or the one I did when I left my family to help you escape... I've always had great admiration for you, and despite the insensitive side you were letting on, I have always saw a boy with an immense heart, and I am delighted that tonight you are giving me the opportunity to enjoy a little more of that immense heart... I love you too... stupid Ray.

They had finally come to terms with the true nature of their relationship and this was done as the moon shone brightly in the starry February sky, the two lovebirds kissed for the first time in their lives before spending the evening together.
