You Are Different

Chapter 4

"Kao" Pete whisper shouts
"Hah hah hah" Kao breaths heavily
"Is that a bird nest in the top" It was a just an idiotic question which Pete's mother would asked when he felt sick and to throw up. But surprising Pete Kao asks him where Pete plays a long and says" On the to near the dried leaves. Kao was distracted and started to feel better. When his mind becomes clear he looks at Pete confused. "I was joking" Pete replies " Oh, please drive slow" Pete knew he would , for he did not want Kao to get sick in his precious car.

After a short and slow ride they reached the bar. June and his friends were waiting for them outside. All of them went together. Kao was feeling better. But he doesn't plan to drink. He never liked drinking before his competitions started he would completely drop drinking.

All of them started drinking Pete, June and Sandee were drinking alcohol hard. Thada was drinking in control. Kao was drinking aerated drinks. He was in his thoughts.
The first he got drunk was with Waii. He remembered Waii teasing him for a two whole days on how his words got slurry and he acted like  a child. He was smiling to himself. When suddenly Sandee who saw the boy smile genuinely for the first time asked him why he was smiling.

"Nothing, just... "
"I think we should stop drinking " Thada said as he was looking at Pete and June who were drunk and laughing like crazy.

"Yes we should" Sandee supporting his decision

"Okay" Kao said

Helping the drunk boys June was supported by Thada and Sandee.
Pete who was starting to get sleepy and tired had his head on the table. Kao stared at Pete with a questionable look. He poked Pete's cheek to check if he could walk. Seeing no response. Kao turned the chair and sat in front of Pete with his back facing Pete he took both of his arms and give him a piggyback ride.

Not noticing Sandee took a picture. Pete was heavy Kao walked in a fast pace to Pete's car, took the car key from his pocket opened the passenger seat and  sat Pete on the seat.

He then went to say bye to rest of his friends and asked for Pete's address . Sandee added Pete's address on the navigation.

Kao drove Pete to his house his father opened the door he greeted him and
passed Pete and car keys to him. And left hurriedly as it was getting late. He hailed a cab to his house it was getting dark.

Kao POV

He is a cute drunk. Awww. I need something to eat. I get a bowl of rice and soup  and start to eat.
Pete was singing a song which came out more like a mumble. Good thing I knew how to drive otherwise it would have become complicated. I should sleep early to wake up early.

Kao slowly walked to his room not wanting to wake his parents.

Creak

"Shit" He ran in the top speed through  the stairs to his room.
"Safe" Kao whispered to himself.
And fell onto his bed. Kao was tired so he slept in a few minutes time.

Pete POV

I woke around two in the morning my head was aching like hell. I go to the kitchen, get a glass of water. And go back to my room. Trying to recollect his thoughts. Who got him home ,must be Sandee or Thada. For June was too drunk. Like him.

My Car.

Pete runs to his balcony to check his car. He sees his car perfectly parked
"Good" he thinks. He sets his alarm and goes to bed thinking about today Mint Kao. Kao how did he went home Pete wondered.Before he realises it is morning. His hangover has subsided but was still sleepy.

Kao woke up happy. He felt happy. He knew today would be good. He just had this feeling. He was not expecting to feel this good. He would always woke up sad or bored

Out of all five of them only Kao didn't have a hangover cause he did not drink.
Thada asks Kao" You did not drink did you"
"I did not " Kao replied
"Good for you" Sandee said teasingly
Thada snickers on their remarks

Pete was feeling bad he got around 10 messages from Mint asking his whereabouts and how he was doing.
Seeing Kao all smiley which was irritating him as San has sent him a picture of Kao giving him piggyback ride he was drunk so he did not remember it. Questions like why was he happy happy why was he smiling. Was he laughing at him did he
This was making him angry.

Pete sat besides Kao. Kao could feel his glare. He was starting to get a bad feeling.
Suddenly the bell rang. Kao was getting ready to leave for the class. Whene Pete tightly grips his hand and asks him to meet him in the back of the building after class. Kao nods.

After class Pete was waiting for Kao. Kao was lost he was in the wrong side . Pete was loosing his temper.
He sees a confused Kao searching for Pete. He calls him out.
"Oye"
"Oh there you are I got lost"
"Idiot"
"Excuse me"
"What are you retarded? "
"I'm leaving"
"Stop.I wanted to know what happened"
"What"
"Yesterday , you took me home"
"I drove your car dropped who home , parked your car. Then hailed a cab went home"
"Before that "
"Oh I piggybacked you from the bar to the seat"
"You had fun"
"What"
"Did I say something"
"No"
"Why you were you smiling"
"Stop it you are getting annoying"
"Shut up -"
"You shut up I answered you clearly"

A hard punch fell on Kao 's face.
His cheek got red.
Everything for silent.
Regrets and Anger were  building inside them.

Kao ran.
