You Are Different

Chapter 9

That night ended with mixed feelings. Pete felt jealous and wanted Kao just for himself. Kao felt his heart flutter everytime he felt Pete's gaze on him. Third felt the joy of knowing someone who was proud of his sexuality. He felt like he found a role model. Khai anger aroused everytime he remembers Third's smiling face. Letting fate play it's game, they continue their life. Not knowing how harsh life is, and finding comfort in the unexpected people's and places.

The two young guys started to chat, never dared to come face to face. Unknown to them that they were close to each other, in same University. A beautiful bond of friendship was forming. Innocent. New. Real. Comforting. Different.

Kao was feeling happy he loved his new friends. Slight heart fluttering moments with Pete. He would still swim in club pool. Write down 'thank you' notes. What he didn't realise eas that slowly people started to recognise the young swimmer who was started to star in th club's social media account.

But all came crashing when Mint decided to join their group and destroy their new found peace.
Pete didn't know what to feel. Mint was disturbing his life in harsh way. Kao would always be texting. But would always take a moment and listen to Pete's rambles on how Mint was annoying him.
"She says that I belong with her. I know she doesn't care. I don't get why she still wants to be with me. She cheated on me. I mean. Ughhh. My head hurts. Do you know how I feel? Crap. Here she comes again. " Pete rambles on. Swearing in  a low voice.
"Pete honey"
"Mint do not call me that. Why are you here? " Pete asked her.
Mint notices Kao he was new for her. She knew all of Pete's friends. "You are? " She says pointing at Kao.
"Oh. I am Pete's friend Kao. "
"Mint" she says tilting her head  trying to look appealing but Kao was clueless  .
After somedays.
"Ah.... She is texting me" Kao shouted
"Who? " Sandee asks
"That girl, the plant, Pete's ex! "
"I ignored all her messages she is face timing me. "
" How does she have your number " Thada asks
"What does she want" Pete asks
"She is asking about you, Pete"
"Ah ha" June shouts as if
June was the one who found a solution. "You should talk to her and distract her from Pete and let her down slowly"
Kao started to whine.
While he was whining,  a certain someone was cooing at his cuteness. That someone was Pete.
Kao was still chatting with the guy from the bar. What colour of shirt, what to cook, what to drink, crushes, exes, ideal type, idols, dramas, hobbies. Everything they could think of was discussed.

Suddenly one day when Thada, Pete and Kao were walking, they were confronted by Mint, she pulled Kao close with her claws, discomfort was showing in his face. Pete wanted to pull him closer to his body. Jealousy was reaching his head.
"Kao, let's watch a movie, there a new movie in the theater, a romantic one"
Mint says.
"No, I don't watch movies -
" He doesn't swing that way, right Kao" Everyone stares at the direction of the voice.
"Ah. It's you" Kao sighs in relief.
There leaning on the wall wer Kluay and Achi. Kluay with Achi between his arms leaning his weight on him.
Kao could not help but smile.
"What are you guys doing here? "asks Kao.
" Come with us " Achi says.
Kai waves his friends goodbye and ignore Mint and leaves with his old mates
They continued talking, after a long talk Kao was left with only unsure decisions. They came here to ask to participate in a swim meet  as a member of Waterboyy. There were one person short. They gave him one month time to decide. It was long. They wanted him to feel comfortable. His head was starting to hurt. He felt all the memories with Waii came back. Waii he would have to see Waii again.

It was evenings time passed fast. Kao was walking to his house when he felt something some sort of weight on his body, he got scared and turned harshly . Something pulled him he fell. He stopped thinking. He felt gravity pull him or was it Pete?! He tightly shut his eyes expecting to fall on the hard concrete but fell on something which he was sure was not road.

In the next chapter I was thinking that we could go back a little and  explore Third and Kao relation and get a glance of the story from Third's view
