the brave princess {botw link x reader}

{Part 4}

your pov

You and Link haven't talked since you guessed eachothers names. You still don't know how you got here and why you were so important to Hyrule but it seems like Link knows. You are just a little to shy to ask. You have just been walking over the great plateau for the rest of the day. Link seemed to be a quiet person. You don't why, maybe he just acts like this all the time or maybe he just feels sad or something. 

It's gettig dark now and you decide to speak up. You stop walking and calmly turn towards Link with a smile. He smiles back but questions why you stopped walking. "We should go and search for shelter for the night. And build a fire. It gets cold at night." Is all you say. He nodds and you walk a little more trying to find shelter. 
After a while Link stops and kneels behind a bush, pulling your arm so yu too, kneel down. You try to speak up and ask him what's up but he holds his finger in front of his lips to tell you to be quiet.

When you look up, you see a bokoblin camp. There are about seven bokoblins. Five are sitting around a fire eating and the two others are on small watchtowers each weaponed with a bow. The ones sitting around the fire don't have weapons with them but you see some boko clubs against a tree that fell over.

You take out your bow and a few arrows that you collected today by stealing from the bokoblins. Link gets out a travellers sword. You aim with your bow to the head of one of the bokoblins on the watchtowers. You shoot it straight trough the head. It falls on the ground and vanishes in purple and black smoke. It is the same collor as your mothers veins. It leaves a few random parts behind. Link glances at you with amazement and a smile.

The bokoblin on the other watchtower saw it's friend die but hasn't seen you. When it looks in your way you shoot that one too right between it's eyes. It falls on the round and vanishes like the first one has done. 
The other bokoblins don't seem to notice this and keep eating. Link stands up a little more with his sword in his hand. You grab your own travellers sword that you had also found today and hold it ready for battle. The two of you quietly sneak up behind some trees towards the camp. 

When you get close enough and the bokoblins still haven't noticed you, you both jump from behindthe tree and attack them. You both kill one each by the sneak attack. Only three more to go. You see one going to Link and another comming towards you after they had grabbed their weapons. You don't see the thirth one and also don't seem to care. 
You turn towards the bokoblin that is aiming for you and dodge it's attack with your shield. This causes its boko club to fly in it's face. The bokoblin makes angry pig noices. You can't do anything but laugh at that.

The bokoblin comes at you again and this time you have your sword ready to kill it. You slash trough it's arm and while the bokoblin is distracted, you slash trough its belly.
When you see the purple/black smoke, you turn to Link and see that he has beaten another bokoblin. That only leaves the one you ddn't see earlyer. 
You look up at Link who seems proud and see the bokoblin sneaking up on him.
"Link, behind you!" You yell while running towards him. He turns around to see what it is. He had already put his sword on his back again so you jump hoping you are not too late and slash the bokoblins head. It dies immediatly and Link still stands there with a little fear in his eyes now holding his sword he had gotten out a little to late. Lucky for him you were there.

Link stares at you, again with amazement in his blue eyes. You smile and grabb the monster parts the bokoblin had left from the ground. Link walks towards the fire the bokoblins were sitting around and notices some of their food is still above the fire. He takes it and puts it in his pocket. He runs towards you. "Thanks for that"
This was the first time you heard him talking since he said your name. You wave it off , knowing that he will probably be saving you from monsters in the future. 

You both go sitting by the fire and you decide to make a skewer with the mushrooms you have found today. You notice Link staring at you while you are eating it. "Link , do you want a mushroom skewer too?" You ask him politely. He smiles and sits up taking out some of his own mushrooms for you to make a skewer with. 
He then realises he still has the meat from the bokoblins. When he takes it out, you smell it and it smells great. Maybe bokoblins also eat some nice food beside all the trash.

When you are done and all the food is standing in front of you, it looks like a big buffet. Both of you start eating and it all tastes awesome. After a while, all the food is done and the sun is almost gone. You lay down under a tree on a bed of leaves under the beautiful sky. You notice Link still sitting up, it seems like he is overthinking something. You want to ask what's wrong but decide against it. He will open up when he feels like it.

You let your eyelids take away the moonlight from your eyes and fall asleep after a long and exhausting day.

Link's pov

I know this girl, I remembered her in the memory at the tower. I know that I knew her but I don't know how. I don't know what she meant to me. Maybe she was my best friend or maybe se was my worst enemy. I don't think we were anything less then friends, in my memory we seemed very close. I replay the memory in my head.

~~~flashback~~~

"I think it would be better if we stopped training for today. We still need to get back to the castle, that wont be easy with the snow that this cold winter has brought." y/n says. I lower my sword and we start cleaning up. We weren't training on the royal training ground because there was too much snow there.
After cleaning up the sun is already going down and y/n and I get on our horses.
The sun is strating to go dow and I think that once we reach the castle it will be dark. 

We ride a little more and y/n starts talking again. "Do you think I would be of any help fighting the calamity?" She asks. I don't know how to answer so I just stare questioning her. "My father is planning on sending me somewhere 'safe'. He wants to do the same to Zelda but she is needed for this. I can fight, I know that for sure, I have beaten all of the knight including you and he still doesn't believe me." 
She is quiet after this and we just ride a little more until we reach a place with very deep snow. We get of our horses so they wont sink in the snow more because of our weight. y/n is walking behind me. 

Suddenly I feel a cold ball hit my back. I turn around and another one hits my face. Once I get the snow out of my face I see y/n and the uge smile on her face. She grabbs some more snow and throws it towards me. 
I decide to take revenge and throw a snowball in her face. She stares fake mad at me. It goes on until we both get cold and tired. 
We walk with horses by our side for two more minutes and see a lake. We go sitting next to it and stare at the upcomming moon. We are both wrapped in a blanket and just enjoy eachothers company. 

After a while we get up and go back to the castle where we arrive in the darkness. y/n's father is standing and being very mad. He sends me away and takes y/n with him walking in the castle in a mad way. y/n waves with a sad smile. She dissapears in the doors of the castle.

I look at y/n lying next to me. I decide I should sleep too. I get down and close my eyes drifting off in a deep sleep.
