the next evening, minho checked the time for the seventh time that night. 6:27pm. he was waiting for jisung, who hadn't gotten home from school yet, and he hadn't seen the younger since lunch break that day. the brunet was sitting in the living room, worrying, and had been for about two hours. he had no clue where jisung was, and to make it worse, he hadn't answered any of the elder's calls or texts.

'wait... shit, i'm an idiot. i should ask one of the others, maybe they know. but wouldn't he have told me if he was with them?' minho instantly picked up his phone and called changbin, the younger picking up not long after.

"hey, hyung-"

"changbin, it's a bit urgent. give felix the phone, i need to talk to him." minho spoke quickly.

"uh, sure."

there was silence for a second, then a different voice was heard on the other line. "hi, minho hyung-"

"felix, is jisung with you right now?"

"no, he's not here-"

"do you know where he is?"

"i thought he was at your dorm-"

"well, he's not. i haven't seen him since lunch and he won't answer any of my calls or messages. i'm panicking, felix, i thought he was with you or one of the others and-"

"what?! hyung, calm down, it won't make this easier if you stress yourself out, okay? i'm on my way over!"

the call ended and minho then realised how short his breathing was, due to anxiety. what happened to jisung? where was he? was he okay? there was a knock at the door and he rushed over to open it, revealing the whole group standing there; chan, changbin, hyunjin, felix, seungmin and jeongin. he let them all in and they all sat on the sofas in the living room.

"what's happening, hyung? felix got us all to come here saying it's urgent." hyunjin spoke.

"yeah, and where's jisung hyung?" jeongin asked. felix explained the situation, everyone staring back in a mixture of shock and fear. it was easy to tell that minho was riled up about it- his eyes were wide and full of panic and his breathing was short as he restlessly paced back and forth while running his hands through his hair repeatedly. without a second thought, chan jumped up and walked over to the door, opening it and rushing everyone into leaving the dorm.

"we're going to the school, something could've happened and he could still be there. it's still open for late studying  so we can still get in." he explained as he led the group that hurried quickly down the hallway. they ran out of the dorm building, over to the school, and ran inside.

"let's go in pairs. me and jeongin, changbin and felix-"

"i'm going by myself." minho declared.

"okay, so seungmin and hyunjin then. split up, let's go." chan said and the rest nodded. hyunjin and seungmin stayed the ground floor, checking every classroom and office and apologising to students or teachers they came across. changbin and felix went to the next floor while chan and jeongin went to one side of the top floor, minho checking the opposite side of the same floor. it had only been a minute of frantically checking classrooms, although for minho it felt like years. there was no sign of the squirrel-looking boy and his heart was beating out of his body in fear, especially due to the silence from the lack of the smaller's presence. at least that was until an ear-splitting shriek was heard from the other side of the building. it was jeongin.
