I started to remember more things. Snippets of information about the Ti leaf plant. Nothing else, only the Ti. As soon as I remembered, it would start to slip away. I always kept my notebook with me now because you never know. I remembered something about it. It was medicinal. Something about how the root of the Ti could brew into a tea that helps treat asthma. I dedicated a small section of the A6 ring to Ti. From the single plant that I found, I was able to get seven more. Every day Lilo, Newt, and I go out to ring A6 and check on the Ti. The work wasn't even the hard part of the day. The hardest part was getting home.

Later that day

"Hey Lani, we gotta go. You almost done?" It was my buddy Arlo

"Yeah. Be there in a sec!" I called back. Arlo was a shorter kid with curly brown hair that was always a crazy mess. He looked about two or three years younger than me, but no one knew for sure because no one knew how old they were. I was guessing that I was about 15 or 16, so he was probably around 13. We always walked home together along with Lilo and Newt because we all live in the same building.

We all walked in silence, preparing for what was about to come.

"Uh, does anyone want to give a pep talk?" Lilo asked, breaking the silence.

"Um...Be careful. Don't get hit," It was the only advice I could give.

"Yeah, great. Now we are all bloody inspired." Newt said. The sarcasticness in his voice seemed like it was almost tangible.

"HEY! WHAT DID I TELL YA?" She started coughing. When she recovered, she shouted, "YOU ALL BETTER GET OFF MY STREET BEFORE I SLAP YOU SILLY!" Grandma Martha. The crazy lady.

"Everyone run!" I shouted as grandma Martha started chasing us with a spatula. We were faster than her but, she would do almost anything to get you off her street, including throwing rocks. Yeah, I learned that the hard way.

When we finally made it to our building, we were all panting and out of breath especially poor Arlo. Two people that also live in this building walked out. They gave us weird looks, probably wondering why we looked like we just ran half a mile and were covered in sweat. Well, it is because we did. We decided to go to Lilo's room and hang out before dinner. Her room wasn't that spacious. It was the same size as ours. All of the rooms are identical. A small hammock was hanging in the left corner of the room. The right corner of the room held a tiny, plain wooden desk. Tucked underneath the desk was an upsidedown crate with a plank of wood on top, two straps of thin cord wrapped around it. Sitting on top of her desk was a little tin can that held one pencil and five colored pencils. She also had a stack of notebooks and papers in a neat pile. There were many plants, big and small, all over the place. It made the plain wooden room look bright and colorful. Newt, Arlo, and Lilo grabbed one of the few blankets that the makers provided us with and set it nicely on the floor to sit on. Instead of sitting down with them, I walked over to the chair and pulled it out from underneath the desk. I sat down, opening my notebook. I started skimming through the memories that I wrote down. I stopped when I got to the one about Ti treating asthma. I could hear my friends talking. I couldn't tell what they were saying. Honestly, I didn't really care. I was too lost in my thoughts to care.

After running through the thought multiple times in my head, I decided to share my idea.

"Hey, guys? I just had a thought," I announced

"Well, what is it?" Newt questioned.

"Ok, so I know that it is kinda crazy...we know that Grandma Martha has asthma. We also know that Ti can cure asthma. Maybe if we help Grandma Martha, she will stop chasing us,"

"Sure, but how would we even get close to her? I mean without getting slapped silly with a spatula." Arlo pointed out.

"True," I agreed. he did have a good point. "But do you guys have any better ideas because I am tired of doing this every day?" No one spoke. Lilo was the one who broke the silence.

"I think we should try,"

"Ok," Newt chimed in

"You alright with that, Arlo?" I asked

"Yeah. Just remind me to stay away from any moving spatulas."

Newt reached over and patted Arlo on the back, "Gottcha,"

If you have read or watched The Maze Runner then you know you Newt it. Also, When I made up Arlo I kinda imagined him looking like Chuck.
