Y/N POV - I was heading to the gardens because i am a Track Hoe and they plant food and take care of the crops growing. I work with Newt and Zart most of the day but then Newt has to go and do his second in command business which is sad because i want him to stay. He is my best friend but i have had the biggest crush on him ever since i got introduced by Alby to him and he gave me the tour. I don't want to tell him because he might not even like me back but i told my friend Thomas that i liked him and he said just to tell him or he will. So i'm planning on telling him after dinner tonight.
Y/N - Hey Newt!
Newt - Hey Y/N you alright you seen alittle nervous?
Y/N - Yeah... I'm fine just excited to work that's all!
Newt - That's the spirit Y/N! I wish all the gladers were like you!
Y/N - Thanks! *I said with a nervous chuckle*
Newt - Well lets not stand here like shanks lets get to work!
----Time Skip---
Y/N POV - I kinda avoided Newt for the whole day because I was thinking of ways to appoarch telling him and nothing came. This is seriously hopeless, i cant tell him, whenever i see him or talk to him it feels like i have a million butterflies in my stomach and on top of that I literally talk jiberish to him and I get extemely clumsy to the extent of stepping on the bottom of the rake and the the stick hits me in the face. What am I going to do?
Newt POV - Y/N was so quiet today when we useally talk to each other while we are working and she never once looked up at me which is extremely weird. Maybe she hates me? Did I do something wrong? Maybe it's just a phase girls go through... Yeah just totally normal ignoring boys to the extent of not looking at them, man girls are weird. But i do like her a lot but I don't stand a chance with all the other boys here why would she choose me im practically in the friendzone im volounteering myself to be in the friendzone I am seriously stupid! I am currently walking over to the garden because i forgot to put some tools back into the shed and i see Y/N there watering the crops she looked absolutly beautiful with her H/C hair blowing in the wind wow did I actually say that?
Y/N POV - I saw Newt coming over to the garden. I can't stand ingnoring him anymore it's driving me crazy. He's been trying to talk to me all day and I tried ending the conversatiion with (Yeah, Ok, I have to get back to work). He must think i'm mad at him or something i swear i am the dumbest shank there ever was in the glade.
Newt - Hey Y/N what are you doing here? It's almost dinner!
Y/N - Just doing some last minute gardening some of the plants looked dry so I watered them. Why are you here Newt?
Newt - I forgot to put some tools away so i came to put them in the shed.
Y/N - Oh ok.
Newt - Would you mind helping me carry them to the shed
Y/N - No, no problem at all.
Newt - Just grab the rakes and the shovels over there.
Y/N - Ok
Y/N - Me and Newt were on our way to the shed and Newt kept staring at me and he looked like he had a lot on his mind. Maybe he's going to ask me why i've been ignoring him. After a few minutes we made it to the shed we entered it and it was quite dark.
Newt - Can you turn the light on... it should be on your left.
Y/N POV - I walked to my left and I bumped in to Newt but he caught me before i hit the ground and he turned the light on above us.
Newt - You alright?
Y/N - Yeah i'm fine... sorry for bumping into you.
Newt - Oh you don't have to say sorry for that I like saving your life *he blushed*
Newt - *he cleared his throat* So Y/N why have you been ignoring me for the whole day?
Y/N - Ugh-- I---I U--mm I was really busy yeah that's it... I was busy.
Newt - Y/N tell me the truth. I know somethings up you never act like this around me.
Y/N - ILikeYouAlotAndIDidntThinkYouWouldFeelTheSameWaySoIWasn'tGoingToTellYou.
Newt - Can you say that alittle slower please?
Y/N - *sighed* I like you a lot and I didnt think you would feel the same way so I wasn't going to tell you. Ever since we became friends i fell instantly in love with you and i couldnt tell you that because it would ruin the friendship we have and I knew you wouldnt like me back look at me i'm not even that pretty and here i am asking you if you like me...
Y/N POV - Newt moved closer to me and pulled some of my hair behind my ear and brought his lips closer to mine and kissed me. it wasn't too hard or too soft it was perfect it made my heart rate go up and i felt like my heart was going to fly out of my chest and as for the butterflies... they were back and there were a million of them alright.
Newt - So Y/N does that answer your question? *he smirked*
Y/N - I'm still a little unclear maybe i need you to say it once more. *I smirked*
Newt - I love you so much Y/N and i want to be with you for the rest of my life so will you be my girlfriend?
Y/N -Yes! And just shucking kiss me again shank!
Y/N POV - After we kissed for a second time in one night we decided to go get some food we walked hand in hand on the way there.
Thomas - Finally! You guys are a thing!
Y/N - Yes Thomas we are together.
Newt - And I love her to pieces.
Thomas - Well I'm glad because Y/N would not stop talking about you and how she wants to shuc--
Y/N - SHUT UP THOMAS!
Newt - *he laughed* Maybe in the future *he winked*
Y/N *I blushed* Ughh Boys!
Thomas - You gotta love em'
Y/N - Not!
Newt - I love you Y/N.
Y/N - I love you too Newt.
