Elder Huo was not angry or upset. He still smiled happily replied: "My granddaughter-in-law has invited me to dinner, I'll like it no matter where I go!"

He only mentioned his "granddaughter-in-law", nothing about the rest of the Bai family. It should be clear to everyone there what this meant.

With that said, he took the initiative to rotate the turntable, turning until the dish of peanuts on the table was in front of Bai Zhen Zhen.

"Come on, Zhen Zhen, eat some peanuts and smile a lot."

Bai Zhen Zhen's face softened a little. She pursed her lips apologetically to Elder Huo, but Elder Huo was not angry at her, instead he smiled and nodded at her, hinting that she shouldn't mind.

A thread of warmth enveloped Bai Zhen Zhen's heart.

But Father Bai had not given up, and continued: "Elder Huo, I won't hide it from you. To tell the truth, I actually didn't come over for dinner today, but rather I wanted to discuss with you about the marriage between my daughter and your Huo Xiang."

Elder Huo smiled and said, "I know, that Mr. Bai is worried about the wedding, don't worry..."

"Elder Huo has misunderstood. Actually, what I want to discuss with you is --- the annulment of this marriage." Father Bai said.

Elder Huo was obviously taken aback, and turned his head to look at Huo Xiang.

Huo Xiang frowned and said to Father Bai straight away: "Uncle Bai, why are you mentioning this again? Zhen Zhen and I already received our marriage certificate..."

Elder Huo, I will be sincere, I am aware of the status of our Bai family. Before Huo Xiang recognized his ancestors and returned to his family, I was very satisfied with him. But now, we really can't afford this social climbing." Father Bai directly ignored Huo Xiang's words speaking to Elder Huo.

Bai Zhen Zhen picked a peanut and started to chew, with a cold and detached face.

Elder Huo didn't know whether to laugh or to cry: "Mr. Bai, listening to your words, it sounds as if our family background has a negative impact in this grandson of mine."

Father Bai said: "We have self-knowledge, we are not going to humiliate and disgrace ourselves any longer"

Elder Huo said: "Mr. Bai, I think you might have misunderstood. I have never asked Huo Xiang about Zhen Zhen's family background before because I believe that a person's family background doesn't dictate a person's moral quality and life. What's more, this is a matter of the two children, if they care about and like each other, us as their elders should give them our blessings, don't you think?"

"Yes ah, yes ah, Uncle Bai, Zhen Zhen and I truly love each other sincerely. This has nothing to do with who I am." Huo Xiang said sincerely.

He glanced again at Bai Zhen Zhen.

However, Bai Zhen Zhen looked back at him with a dace that said "don't waste your breath trying to convince him".

Knowing her father as if she was his real daughter, sure enough, Huo Xiang and his grandfather's did not shake Father Bai's standpoint in the slightest .

"Elder Huo, I don't agree with you at all. Marriage is all about an appropriate match, in a marriage between different social classes, they will hardly find happiness."

Elder Huo laughed: "Mr. Bai, looking at my age, I am a generation older than you. How can your thoughts unexpectedly be this old-fashioned ? A marriage between different social classes, in what century are we living in? Nowadays society promotes freedom in love!"

Elder Huo's words deeply touched Bai Zhen Zhen's heart, and Bai Zhen Zhen couldn't help cheering: "Grandpa, you are totally right!"

Father Bai immediately got angry when he heard it, and shouted: "Bai Zhen Zhen!"

"What's the matter, dad?" Bai Zhen Zhen pretended to be innocent, and blinked as she looked at her father.

Her beloved father, she couldn't argue with him and she couldn't scold him. When watching the other party igniting fire, she wasn't even allowed to eat popcorn and applaud?!

Yang Su Ping was watching this play from the side, secretly enjoying it.

It looked like it wasn't necessary for her to move a finger, because Bai Zhen Zhen's marriage was going to be destroyed by her own father.

At that moment, a few waiters began serving plates filled with delicacies all around.

Huo Xiang said in a hurry, trying to smooth things over: "Why don't we eat first? Let's talk while we eat."

Elder Huo also had an amiable look: "Mr. Bai, since we're already here, let's take it easy and enjoy it. Don't worry, we can discuss things calmly and without stress, this meal needs to be eaten."

Father Bai clenched his teeth, but didn't continue talking.

"Yes ah, let's eat, let's eat." Yang Su Ping was all smiles.

Having said that, she took the initiative to stretch out her chopsticks to bring a piece of beef to Father Bai.

"Elder Huo, in fact, it's not without reasons that our Old Bai is worried." Yang Su Ping seized the opportunity to intervene, "after all, Zhen Zhen, this child... ay..."

She wanted to say something but hesitated, then halfway through, she sighed.

Elder Huo asked, full of interest: "Oh, what is it?"

Yang Su Ping feigned embarrassment, and slowly said: "Zhen Zhen, this child, has gone through hardships ah. From a young age, she didn't receive a good education. After graduating from high school she immediately started to work part-time jobs. Don't see her just as a little girl, she can do anything! Handing out flyers, selling tickets, washing dishes and doing odd jobs in a restaurant, working as a waitress... She has worked hard and done all kind of dirty work!"

"This kind of child, even if not my own, but seeing it, I also feel distressed." Yang Su Ping stopped and looked at Bai Zhen Zhen filled with pity, and then did a turn in the conversation. "But I also know, this person is too vulgar to be elegant. For an illustrious family like yours, for a woman to marry in, she should have both the talent and beauty, knowing the etiquette of young lady. Our family's Zhen Zhen truly is not worthy ah!"
