The next morning, Dakota awoke to her alarm. Calum's arm was around her waist, where her tank top had ridden up a little. He miraculously wasn't disturbed by her alarm, and she slipped out from under his arm. When she got up, Calum just rolled over on his stomach and started snuggling the pillow she had been lying on. She grabbed a towel and some clothes and quietly snuck into the shower.
"Fuck it, I'll play my music anyway. He won't wake up." She grabbed her phone and opened her Spotify playlist. Amazingly, no 5 Seconds of Summer played; instead she was jamming out to One Direction, Hot Chelle Rae, and other songs from her childhood. She quickly finished drying off and getting dressed, and when she came back into her room, she saw Calum was now on his back, his hands behind his head.
"Waking up to you singing is probably the best way to wake up." He smiled at her, making her blush.
"You weren't supposed to hear that, I thought you were asleep." She threw her dirty clothes into her hamper and started brushing out her hair.
"I was, until I went to snuggle you and ended up with your pillow instead. It smells like you though, so it was okay."
"Such a cheeseball." She rolled her eyes at him in the mirror and continued getting ready for class.
"And who would have guessed that you can rap too?" He stretched and got up, hugging her from behind as she finished her hair.
"I can't rap. I just happen to like songs that have raps in them." With that, she started brushing her teeth, stopping conversation for the moment. Calum grabbed her phone and started looking through her music.
"I remember you saying that you like a lot of music, but this is not what I was expecting!"
"That isn't even all of it, there's more in my iTunes library on my laptop and my mom's laptop back home."
"I'm really impressed, actually." He set her phone back down, and laid on the bed.
"Well, thank you. I like to think I have good taste in music." He laughed. "Alright, so I have to go to class in a few minutes. You're more than welcome to stay here, I'll leave my laptop so you can watch Netflix and do whatever you do. It is a two hour class though, and I don't have much in the way of food..." She emphasized her point by grabbing one of her last cereal bars to eat in class.
"I'll chill here, then we can go back to my cushy hotel room and order room service or something for dinner." He made himself comfortable on her bed with her laptop.
"Alright. Text me, I don't have very high expectations that I'll get very much accomplished." She kissed his cheek and grabbed her backpack. "See you in a couple of hours!"
"See you later! Love you!" Calum blurted out as she closed the door behind her. Dakota stopped right outside the door, her mouth open. Calum's eyes widened as he realized what he just said.
"Did he just..."
"Did I just..." They both wondered out loud.
I think he did...oh my god...did he mean it? Why did he say it? Shit, do I have to say it back now? Do I love him too? Oh my god, I can't handle this right now! Dakota's thoughts raced as she walked towards her class.
"I just said that...what the hell Calum! Way to scare her off!" Calum chided himself. He facepalmed a couple of times before opening Netflix on Dakota's laptop.

Calum grabbed his phone a little later and quickly sent a text to Dakota. When she got it, she knew she had to make a quick decision about whether or not to acknowledge what he said.
