"What, surprised to see me?"

"Ash, were you yelling at Calum earlier?" Dakota stole a glance at Ashton while he was driving and saw him gulp.

"Why?"

"I thought I was just dreaming, because I heard you and you were yelling, but you weren't in my dream, and then it felt like Cal put his hand over my ear? I don't know. I've just never heard you yell before." She sank a little in her seat, still trying to stave off her migraine by rubbing her temples.

"I wouldn't have yelled if his arms weren't around you. I have a bit of a jealous streak. I'm sorry love, did it wake you up?" Ashton admitted to her.

"I was already kind of waking up. And there's nothing to be jealous about, it's just Cal. I had a nightmare, he was just trying to make me feel better." He just sighed, knowing he was stupid for yelling.

The rest of the car ride passed in silence, until they got into Ashton's house. Dakota was starving by this point, and her migraine wasn't helping the situation either. Ashton was rummaging through the pantry and refrigerator, trying to find something he make really fast.

"It looks like we have peanut butter and banana sandwiches..."

"Fine, I'm too hungry to care." Dakota was laying on the couch, one of her arms covering her eyes, trying to keep out all traces of light.

"Do you have medicine or something you can take? I don't like seeing you like this." Ashton looked at her, worried, while he was slicing the bananas.

"Can't take it until I've eaten. And I haven't eaten since lunch yesterday."

"Dakota! Why didn't you have dinner?" He was alarmed.

"I felt too sick. I had some Goldfish though, does that count?"

"No! That most certainly doesn't count!" He finished making two sandwiches quickly and taking them over to her. He set the plate on the coffee table and lifted her arm. He saw the pain flash across her face as she sat up. "Now eat, so you can take your medicine and get some real, uninterrupted sleep." Dakota just groaned in response and started eating.

"I. Hate. Bananas." She said as she popped the last bite of sandwich into her mouth. Ashton looked like she offended all of his ancestors.

"We're going to pretend you only said that because of emotional stress, because I happen to love bananas." He replied, handing her bag to her and getting her a cup of water. After she had taken her medicine, she kept rifling through her bag.

"Do you have my phone? I can't find it anywhere..." Dakota stood up and started looking around the living room.

"Hmm? No, I haven't seen it. Are you sure you had it?"

"I could have sworn...oh, shit..." She stopped dead her tracks as what little color she had in her face drained.

"What? Did you leave it at Cal's place?" He pulled out his phone, and started dialing Calum's number.

"No, I don't think so..." Ashton lowered his phone. "I think I forgot it in Sydney..." Ashton's shoulders sagged.

"Do you absolutely need it right now?" Dakota nodded vigorously, she knew her friends back home were probably freaking out that she wasn't answering. "Alright, let's go it."

--

They pulled up to her building, and Ashton parked the car.

"Do you want me to come with you?" He looked at her with concern and caressed her cheek.

"I think I should be okay. Be back in a flash!" She managed a smile as she got out of the car. Alright Dakota, you can do this. You'll be there and back in no time. Everything will be okay. She repeated this mantra in her head as she got on the elevator. When she got into her room, she spotted her phone sitting on her bed, exactly where she had left it after she had asked Calum to come get her. Grabbing it and her charger, she looked at her room again. It's feels like I'm forgetting something...whatever. Just get out of here!
