Oliver was the best at everything.
Nobody ever said otherwise (they valued their lives), and he really was. He excelled in class just as much as on the field, even tutoring a few kids when he wasn't practicing.
There was one thing, an Achilles heel of sorts, that even he would admit he sucked at.
Gifts for (y/n).
He had fallen deeply in love with her when he saw how she darted around on her broom when she played quidditch. He also loved her kind smile, and those pretty (e/c) eyes she had. He loved how she was herself, and didn't really care what anyone thought of her (little did he know that he was the only exception to that). Oliver Wood, heartthrob of Hogwarts and team captain for Gryffindor, was helplessly in love with her.
He hadn't a clue what to get (y/n) for Valentine's Day.
She had insisted that she didn't want or need anything, and that him loving her was enough, but Oliver wasn't losing this game. After enlisting the help from Katie Bell, Angelina Johnson, and Lee Jordan, he put the plan in gear. He was ready to win.
When the Valentine's Day quidditch match rolled around, Oliver was sweaty-palmed and excited. Now was not the time for second thoughts, so he finished lacing up his shoes and took to the field.
Lee Jordan began announcing the game like he would any other. At the end of his typical speech, he added "And now, a word from your Gryffindor quidditch captain!"
Oliver flew over to the announcer, taking the wand and putting it to his throat. He began flying to the (your house) stands, hands shaking.
"(Y/n)," he said, his Scottish accent intense, "we've been dating for two years now."
He took her hands, and she was already tearing up.
"It's been two fast years, and it seems like there wasn't a time before we were a team, but that's because we've always been soulmates. I love you so bloody much, (y/n). I can't explain it. I just- I want you to know that I will always love you, and go through whatever it takes for you to love me. You're my good luck charm, (y/n). I love you a million times more than quidditch. I Love. You."
(Y/n) grabbed his cheeks and pulled his lips into hers.
"I love you more, Oliver Wood."
He grabbed her left hand, and pushed a little silver ring on her ring finger. "This is my promise to you. I will be loyal, I won't leave you to struggle, and I will always love you."
They kissed again, and Oliver flew back to hand Lee his wand.
"LET THE GAME BEGIN!!"}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{
