Old Sly fox was all alone
Had no friend nor foe
Black was he as coal
No one to visit him at home.

Wondrously hungry was he
He took no time to wander the trees
Searching frantically for a friend
Unfortunately, he was tagged a "weird".

Angry at the world for its hostility
He was so sad for being so black, alone
Every other fox was white
They had families who had rights.

Hungry for revenge in his heart
He decided to be white
To deceive the white foxes
And take their wealth.

Kind and wise were they
To welcome the old Sly fox
Making him part of their family
Finding no fault in him.

He talked about a wealth journey
Embarked upon to the lion
Which is the reason for his wealth
That will never go dry.

Nearly did they believe him
And gave their wealth to him
To embark on the journey
At the rising of the sun.

White fox Morris never believed him
She could smell impending doom
On their wealth and family.

A plan was hatched by white fox Morris and a few foxes
To trap the old Sly fox
In his net of deceit.

He was asked to call the lion
To come to them instead
And multiply their wealth
Since he claimed to be his friend.

Reluctantly did he agree
He asked for a cage and a lion
And called and called
But no reply.

Morning and night came
Yet no reply
The white foxes started doubting
But he pleaded for leniency.

Immediately, the lion came
Hungry, he wanted to eat them up
They asked for wealth in exchange for flesh
But the lion stared in suprise.

"I don't give wealth" he said
"My job is to kill and destroy
Who informed you about this?
It is certainly treachery".

Old Sly fox was scared indeed
As the lion was a mighty being
He never wanted to be belittled
Gladly, he took over the conversation.

"Oh, mighty King of the animals
Your wealth surpasses the earth
I beg thee to drink wine from this horn
And grant us wealth".

The lion laughed scornfully
"Your plan is to cage me
And perhaps trick these ones
But it will not work
I would rather eat you alive now than to nurse these insults".

The fox understood his plight and begged
But he was pounced upon by him
And shredded to pieces
That was the end of old Sly fox.

Pride goes before a fall
Socialization creates a good impact
Kindness and wisdom should rhyme
That was what old Sly fox could not understand.
