In groups they go
Marching as soldiers on war
Everything crumbles before them
Like a pack of cards.Keenly and carefully, Sonu watch
Their rigmaroling activities
The unity they possess
"Ah, they're wonderful" he says.Walking together in confidence
Defeating obstacles both huge and small
Working together in unity
Greeting as they meet.Work is being shared
A seemingly impossible task
Becomes possible in a split of seconds
As hands are joined together.Sonu scatters them, laughing derisively
To his greatest suprise yet, they get back together in a split of seconds
"What sort of creatures are these?" He says
"They are still united no matter the trouble".Steadfastness pays a fortune
Hardwork, the master of success
Helping each other through thick and thin
Is the ant's watchword no matter how small.
A lesson he learnt that day
From the wisdom of the soldier ant.- Tonia John
