The Darkness

Chapter 17

You open your eyes on the verge of tears. You hug Okami, gripping her fur in your hands. You look back at Satoshi. He's not there... Your heart starts racing, panicking. Your try to jump up but Okami is still on you. You try to get her off of you. She won't budge. You call out Satoshi's name. You hear no response. You scream his name. You don't hear anything. You can't even hear Okami's breath. Your heart feels like it's about to beat out of your chest. You're in a state of extreme panic. The adrenaline sets in and you push Okami off of you. And she has no reaction. Satoshi and Taka are nowhere to be seen. Okami's not moving you fall down to her side. There is blood surrounding her mouth. Her eyes are dimming. She sees you and tries to prick her ears up. She tries to move closer to you. But she can only manage to put her paw on your lap. She gives you a slight grin. You start crying. You fall onto her body. Screaming, balling. Okami stops breathing. You get up and look at her face. Your eyes go wide, your mouth drops. You spend the next few hours like this not believing what just happened. You don't want to believe. You start to regain your senses. You look all around, there is no one. Satoshi and Taka are nowhere to be seen. You look back down at Okami tears swell up in your eyes again. She just lays there, she looks so peaceful. She still has that kind grin on her face. Her body starts to shrink. You try to grab her but you can't. Your hand goes right through, as if she is just a hallucination. She shrinks to nothing. You are all alone. There is no one. Nothing. The sky turns to a blood red, and the clouds turn black. The grass dies and everything is gloomy. And it reminds you of doom and death. You don't want to continue. You're too depressed. But you walk forward not even caring where you end up going. You don't know how long you've been walking, you really don't want to know. The terrain has changed there is no longer dead grass instead there are stalagmites and there seems to be volcanos. Everything seems dangerous and unsafe. You wish Okami was there... But she isn't. You feel yourself wanting to cry, but you don't have enough water in your body to produce even a single tear. You trip on one of the stalagmites, you feel it cut your leg. You don't even have enough energy to react to it. You just lay there not having the motivation or energy to move. You close your eyes, and you end up blacking out.
