The Darkness

Chapter 19

You focus on where you are. Everything looks dead, it's hot, there are lots of rocks. You take out your water and drink some, it feels as if the waves are finally crashing onto sand that had been baking in the sun for an eternity. It feels blissful to you. You put the water back, and take out the map. It seems to be that you are in the middle of nowhere. There really isn't anything even on the map. No dots, no boxes. The only thing you see are lines, as if you were looking at a road map. But you haven't seen any roads or anything that even looks like a road. You decide to get up and just walk to a blue blob on the map, which you think could be a lake or some kind of body of water. You start walking. It's strange only hearing one set of footsteps. It saddens you... But you continue walking. You walk for roughly an hour and the map shows that you still have a ways to go. At this point you have gotten out of the area of death and rocks. The terrain is more grassy and their are some trees here and there. From where the sun is in the sky you would say it is about 2 or 3 in the afternoon. There are a few scattered clouds, it might rain in a few hours or even tomorrow. You continue walking. You walk until sunset, you have maybe an hour or two left of waking to do according to the map. But it's getting dark so you decided to just rest here for the night. You find a tree nearby and lay under it. It's getting cold and you wish that you could make a fire, but mainly you wish that Okami, Satoshi, and Taka were here. Everything is so quiet, and dark, and cold. You cry a little bit, and while looking up at the night sky; You fall asleep. You hear birds chirping and you slowly start to wake up. You open your eyes and for a split second while waiting to return to reality you thought you saw a hawk flying above. But when you finally fully wake up, there is nothing to be seen but clouds in the sky. You pull out your map and see how much farther you need to go to get to the body of water. It's not far, so you drink some water and start walking. It's probably around nine in the morning when you finally arrived. And it's not a body of water at all. It's a town. You walk closer to it and see farms and people busy with their daily lives. It seems so normal and out of place from everything that you've been through. You continue to walk closer and think to yourself. 

Why. Why did it take Satoshi so long to get this far... just to die. I was alone back home, and when I finally. Finally. Had someone to be with me. They die. Maybe I'm...
