Percy's POV:

Annabeth was now sitting up in the infirmary bed, much to Percy's joy. Will came in and gave her some nectar and ambrosia to help the process before checking on Reyna. She was still out a few beds down. After he left, Percy turned back to Annabeth.

"Are you feeling okay now?" Percy whispered.

"Yeah," Annabeth answered, "I feel a lot better."

"You looked tired the whole time we were fighting Scylla."

"I was. I still was tired from spending 3 hours fighting with my mom. Also, what time is it?"

Percy looked at his watch, "It's 6:30, everyone's at dinner right now."

Annabeth frowned, "Shouldn't you be with them?"

Percy gave her a small smile. "I was too worried about you."

Annabeth scrunched her eyebrows and her lips were pressed together for a small second.

"Do you think you'll feel good enough to come to the meeting? There's no pressure to but just letting you know that there is one."

Annabeth said, "Yeah, I think I will. But Percy?"

"Yeah?" he asked.

"You know I didn't fall into the water right?"

Percy was about to answer, but couldn't find the words. He thought she just passed out and fell off her pegasus, but now he was wrong. "...You didn't?"

"I jumped in," she said flatly.

Percy was confused, "Why?"

"To save you."

"Annabeth, I didn't need-"

"I knew what you were doing, Percy."

He looked away from her, ashamed. "I... I thought it was the only way."

She closed her eyes and sighed, "Percy, maybe it was, but you shouldn't do that. The last time... you know what happened. Some things just aren't meant to be controlled. It scares me to see you like that. So, I thought that maybe... maybe I could have stopped you. I guess I was wrong."

That feeling of guilt, like he was going to puke, came back. He didn't want Annabeth to think that some evil spirit had washed over him and allowed him to be more monster than human. But maybe that was true. He had allowed himself to neglect his own wife, in trade for control and power. And it had almost gotten her killed.

Percy let out a deep sigh and slumped forward with his head down. He took her hand in his and drew circles in the back of it. "Annabeth, I... I am so, so sorry. I don't know why... why I did it."

Annabeth tilted his chin up to her, and stared into his eyes. He looked so defeated.

"Percy, I love you and I forgive you. You did the right thing in the end."

Percy just nodded, listening to her voice. He swallowed hard and sat upright. "The meeting is about to start, we should get going."

Annabeth's POV:

Annabeth had trouble getting to the Big House, so Percy ended up carrying her most of the way. They now sat in the rec room with all the counselors and the gods. Aphrodite was talking to Jason and Piper, while Ares and Athena were having some argument. Demeter was talking to Poseidon about who knows what, while the Stolls were eating everything at the refreshment table. Clarisse was polishing her spear, and Leo was tinkering with some scrap metal. The rest just made small talk.
