Ch. 9

----LAUREN'S POV----

I hear those dreaded words escape from Camila's lips as I stand in silence. My arms across my chest, my defensive stature throwing out daggers. 

"How did you know?" I croak out, my low voice echoing through the dark parkway. 

The group gasps, all except Demi. 

"You aren't even going to deny it or explain yourself?" Mani asks disgusted. Still holding onto Camila who is sprawled across her lap. 

I roll my eyes, "there's no reason for me to do either of those things. I know what I did. It's none of your business." I lash out at N. I walk over to Camila angrily and pull her up by her arm a little too aggressively. 

"Get up!" I hiss. My anger in hyper-drive. My nails digging into my victims arm.

Finally, Camila's eyes hit me. 

She looks...petrified. Of her own love. 

Her dark brown pools fill up with water as she rips her arm away from me and holds it to her side with her other hand. She stands up and pushes me with all of her might.

"LAUREN. THAT FUCKING HURT! DON'T TOUCH ME EVER AGAIN!" she grabs Normani's hand and the two stroll off. N holding C's head on her shoulder and rubbing her attacked arm. Demi following close behind.

Camila's last words echo through my brain, over and over again.

"Don't touch me ever again."

I plop down on the bench, staring straight ahead as if I saw a ghost. I place my head in my hands, my elbows resting on my knees. 

"Guys..I really fucked up" I shake my head, reliving the last 3 minutes. 

Dinah and Ally scoot closer to me on both sides. Dinah starts rubbing my back with her strong, generous, large Poly hand. "I'm afraid you did, man." Dinah spits out, not afraid of the consequences of doing so.

I look up at her and can't help but laugh. Leave it to Dinah to be completely blunt at a moment like this. 

"But Camila loves you. So much." D shakes her head, "you have no idea what gem you have Lauren. You need to hold onto her, tight. Or someone else will." her eyes burning with love and passion.

I nod, "I know DJ. Sometimes she just drives me insane. She just, gets over-emotional and wants everyone else to coddle her except me. I HATE IT!" I scream out, trying to release my anger in anyway possible. 

"Um...Lauren?" Ally sqeaks out, her voice quiet but nurturing, "you did cheat on her...I really don't think you were her first choice of comfort.." Ally's eyes brimming with tears. I pull the petite girl into my chest and stroke her head. 

"Ally, I hate to see you upset" I whisper and kiss the top of her head. A wraps her arms around my waist and I can feel her body loosen. 

"So, what did you do Lauren?" Dinah challenges the unspoken question. 

I chuckle a little, "it's actually really dumb. I bet Demi made it seem worse than it is." 

Dinah covers her mouth with her hands, in shock. "Lauren..you know how Camila feels about you and Demi."
