---- Lauren's POV -----

Demi leads me down the dark hallway. We come to many locked doors but somehow she has the password to open them all. I swear, I will never understand this girl.

She's been humming this song since we exited her dressing room almost 5 minutes ago. I finally muster up the courage to speak.

"Um....Demi?" my voice too weak for my own good.

"Have you ever been kicked out of something or lost big opportunities because of the one you love?" my eyes never leave the ground but I can feel her entire body sigh.

What feels like an eternity has passed and I immediately regret asking the question. I breathe and begin to revert my initial interrogation when I hear her angelic voice pour out of her mouth.

"God Jauregui, I can't believe you've forgotten already...kinda disappointing."

DAMMIT! Of course! XFactor! How could I be so stupid? I decide to continue to play dumb to see her point of view on the situation.

"But...yeah....yeah I have..." she pushes on the last door frame as we exit into the outside world, the cold air burning our faces. Her grip on my hand tightens as she begins her story.

"I was at the judging table and we had been there for almost 6 hours already and I was exhausted. Finally a spunky girl strides onto the stage and I can instantly feel her ora...like she was there for me. When she opened her mouth I knew we had to keep her because she was insanely talented...but in the back of my mind I knew I had another agenda too." the black haired girl glances over her shoulder, taking in the night sky.

"When we were getting down to the final cuts and Simon put her picture in the "no" pile I almost jumped out of my skin. Words just started spewing out of my mouth explaining why we needed her on the show..looking back on it I probably tipped them off that I had feelings for this girl. But back then, I really didn't care. I just knew I had to see her again." Demi's hand begins to pull away and I grip back tighter.

"No, you're not running away this time" I whisper as I watch her blush and look away, trying to keep her dominant composure.

Demi sighs and continues her story once again.

"Simon finally agreed that she might fit into this girl group he was forming with 4 others. He said she had some 'dominant qualities' that none of the others had and she might bring some power to the group. Me being me, I got super defensive and opened my big mouth too quickly saying 'oh really? because I think she has a lot of submissive qualities to her' .....I regret that sentence everyday of my life."

I can't help myself but chuckle. The guarded pop-star looks up at me with a scowl and rips her hand out of mine. "Damn, I knew I should have never told you this story again." she stormed off into the darkness. Her figure disappearing quickly.

Panicked, I begin to scream out her name. Searching everywhere. That asshole knows I hate the dark...

..and being left alone...

Eventually I approach a bench in the park that I didn't know we were nearing on our walk. I see a figure sitting on it with a very protective stature. I knew it was Demetria.
