Ye Eun eyes shot open. She stared at the ceiling, silent, before jumping in surprise as Ahnjong's face appeared.

Ahnjong softly smiled. "You're up."

"What happened...?" She whispered, sitting up. Ye Eun glanced at the cables connecting her. "Where's everyone? Is In Yeop okay?"

"He's okay. I'll call your brother, okay? Wait for me right here."

Ye Eun watched, teary as Ahnjong opened the door, peeking out before Dohyun ran in, hugging her tightly.

"Ye Eun." He sobbed, kissing her forehead. "I'm so sorry."

"Why are you apologizing?"

"I was careless. I trusted that idiot too much. Ever since we were little, you've always been suffering. It shouldn't have been you... it shouldn't."

A sad tear leaked out Ye Eun's eye. She quickly wiped it away, swallowing back the rest of her tears as Dohyun slowly pulled away, this time very serious.

It was way too serious. She glanced at them, noticing the odd tension in the atmosphere.

"What happened... to my baby?"

Dohyun's eyes lowered in shame. He didn't speak.

Ye Eun looked up at Ahnjong who carefully approached her, a sad look on her face.

"Your baby... didn't make it."

What? She glanced between them, realizing they weren't joking. "W-what do you mean she didn't make it?"

"You had a miscarriage..." Dohyun weakly said, wiping away his tears.

Ye Eun's eyes widened. She looked down at her stomach, shakily placing her hands on top of it. "A miscarriage...?"

Neither of them said a word.

"Why?" She cried, shaking her head wildly. "How did this happen- I don't understand!"

"Calm down, Ye Eun."

"How can you tell me to calm down when I just lost my own daughter?!"

Dohyun nodded, wrapping his arms around her as she cried against his chest. "I know, Ye Eun, but you need to be strong."

"I failed as a parent..." she whispered, grasping onto him for dear life.

"You tried your best." Ahnjong said to lessen the mood down. "Don't bring yourself down like that."

"It's all my fault." Dohyun mumbled, new tears of his own rising. "If I had paid more attention to you, if I didn't put my whole focus on college, I would have been able to get you out of this situation as soon as I could."

But Ye Eun kept crying against his shoulder, refusing to let go. She felt like she lost everything. Nothing was worth it anymore.

First she lost her parents, Minah, now her daughter. Life hated her this much.
