Chapter 7

Yubin has been practicing rap extremely hard. She finally found something she knew she was good at besides song writing, so she took pride in being Dreamcatcher's rapper. She would practice difficult raps over and over again to improve her enunciation and articulation. She was on fire. But she couldn't help but notice that Yoohyeon has been dragging her feet everywhere so loudly that she could hear it from her own practice room. Yubin goes to Yoohyeon and asks her what has happened and when it was finally revealed that Minji hasn't been taking care of herself, Yubin just patted her shoulders and told her that the leader knows what she is doing. After the first evaluation, the girl's group were disheartened. Minji saw their faces, but despite that, she was known to be a sunshine, she smiled and clapped her hands.

" Girls, it's okay, we got this. Let's prove to them what we can do. "

The girls looked up and smiled. So they spend countless hours, sleepless nights just to perfect this, knowing that there are some weaker ones on the team. Everyone in the group saw the potential in each individual, so they couldn't give up, not without a fight. Knowing that the older one wasn't looking after herself, Yoohyeon sighed as she walked over to Minji's practice room and stared through the glass panel at the door. She sees Minji and Ryujin dancing really hard but her eyes could only turn to look at the red head. She was dancing passionately and Yoohyeon could feel it. When the song ended, they decided to take a break. Yoohyeon decided to walk away before Minji found out that she had been watching her but it was too late when Ryujin called for Yoohyeon. Yoohyeon internally facepalmed herself as she went over to the practice room. As all of the girls were sitting down and drinking up, Yoohyeon was being introduced by Ryujin to everyone in the room as Yoohyeon greeted them politely. When Yoohyeon's name was mentioned, Minji looked up immediately. She had a sparkle in her eye as she saw the younger one. She grabbed the younger one's hand and walked out of the room, leaving Ryujin and Yoohyeon confused. Once the door was shut and Yoohyeon and Minji were left alone, Minji looked at Yoohyeon for a while, staring at her up and down before she looked the younger one straight in her eyes and hugged her, really tightly. It has been a while since Yoohyeon felt the older one's warmth. Naturally, hugging her back was the only thing she could do.

" I've missed you. "

" Me too. I...I neglected you Yooh, I neglected the girls, I feel bad, and I shouted at you, I'm a terrible person, I shouldn't- "

" Shhhhh... "

Yoohyeon hushed the older one as she stroked the older one's head. She knew that the older one found it comforting when Yoohyeon did that so they were left in comfortable silence as Minji rested in Yoohyeon's embrace. After a while, Minji removed herself from Yoohyeon and pulled the younger one down to sit with her as they held hands and just looked at their shoes.

" Unnie... I know how important this is to you, and I support you. "

" Thank you Yoohyeonie. I'm sorry, I shouldn't have been so hard on you. You know that you will always be important to me right ? "

" I know, thanks for making me feel special. "

" Always Yooh, always. "

" Have you eaten ? "

" Not really. "

" Could I get you something to eat then ? "

" Sure, I would love that. "

" After you eat, I want you to ace that practice and win that competition. The boys deserve to eat dust. "

Minji laughed at Yoohyeon for being such a dork. She smiled and nodded her head.

" I won't let you down. "

The actual day of the battle came. It was the battle of the boys and girls and everyone was nervous, but not the girls. They made a promise, that they will stay humble and do their best. Cocky boys will not get in the way of them winning. It's just their stepping stone. So while waiting for their turn, Minji watched Yoohyeon and Yubin's stage. It was impressive. Yubin was on fire with her rap delivery while she could feel Yoohyeon's emotions through the song.

Now, it was their turn. The boys went first. They had an advantage because they knew how to hype the crowd with their flashy stuns. It was, kind of noisy but it was okay. After the performance, the girl's group were kind of shakened but Minji gathered them.

" So what if they have good moves, we got to show them what we can do, with or without that skill. Benefit... "

" FIGHTING ! "

The girls cheered before going on stage, they knew how to enjoy the stage, so, they knew they could kill it, without those moves. Minji got up on the stage and calmed herself down. Siyeon, Yubin, Yoohyeon, Bora, Handong and Gahyeon watching the performance as it was about to start. They could spot their leader as she was the only one in red hair, so she was literally standing out. When the performance started, Yoohyeon observed the whole thing intensely. She never saw this side of Minji before, she was cute yet, so sensual. She managed to pull off a sexy performance while retaining her adorable side which was impressive.

So when the performance ended, you could hear the screams and roars of both genders, swinging their slogans wildly to show their support. Minji knew that, she had won the hearts of a lot of supporters. So both teams stood on stage, some were fiddling with their fingers, some were holding each other's hand and some were just determined. Minji was holding the microphone as the emcee asked what she expected out of the results.

" I just wanted to have fun with the girls. Of course I would like to win after the judges favourable feedback but whatever the results are, I'm happy with the girls. "

The crowd cheered and the girls looked at Minji with a pleased expression. So when some of the contestants had their turn to speak about their thoughts, it was finally time to reveal the results. All were anxious, especially since the girls had lost two rounds. But when the results were out, the girls couldn't control their emotions. Their disquiet faces turned to elated squeals, hopping and finishing with a group hug. They couldn't be more delighted with the results. It was a well deserved win.

Yoohyeon on the other hand was a little disappointed so while everyone was packing up, she changed out and went to the balcony, just to be alone and think. Yubin went to find Siyeon though so it was alright. Minji on the other hand, knew Yoohyeon like the back of her hand, okay not really but she knew that she would be upset so she walked to the place she knew Yoohyeon would be. She surprised the younger one by giving her a back hug and when Yoohyeon caught the familiar whiff of aroma, she recognised the older one immediately.

" What are you doing here ? You should be celebrating. It was a deserved win. "

" I know but, you were there to support me. And I kinda know that, you're upset. So... "

" I just...why did we even have to come to this programme anyway ? We're just in a place surrounded by people who are misogynistic. I just want a place where I can chill and relax. I hate this. "

" So do I honey, so do I. But I might or might not have good news soon. "

" Is this regarding the Brazil tour ? "

" Yup, but I got to keep a secret for now, until CEO nim releases it himself. "

" Fine. "

" So how about, staying in my room tonight ? "

" Is that allowed ? "

" Well it's my win and I think I deserve to break some rules once in a while. "

" You're such a baddie. "

" I learn from the best. "

" That's a lie, I'm not even a rebel, like at all. I'm just cute, and sometimes naive and most of the time clumsy. "

" That's true. So, what do you say ? "

" I say, sí. "

Minji smiled as she brought the younger one back to her room and cuddled until they both fell asleep. It was a long day but it was worth it in the end.

Here is an update, so sorry for the long wait. My story project didn't go as planned due to the state I'm in. I love writing, but when I'm not doing well mentally, i just don't want to do anything, and I apologise.
