I closed the door
realizing I've been waiting too long
and sat beside the window overlooking my garden outside
that's when my eyes fell on the sadabahar plants

The plants we had planted together
bringing back the memories with its bloom

So many times had I tried uprooting them
because they reminded me,
reminded me of the efforts we had put together
but I knew it could not be replaced by any plant other

Not all the plants were luxuriant
some were withered too
but you didn't uproot them
instead, you planted new ones
asserting the good ones would overshadow them

I remember,
I remember those early morning pleasantries,
late afternoon chats
and those evening visits to get a glimpse of the pink blooming petals of sadabahar-s 

But I knew you didn't use to come to see the pink tint on the blooms
instead the pink that bloomed on the cheeks of the owner (me)

You aren't coming nowadays
is it because I took too long to let you in
as a tribute to your waiting
Or is it because you want me to wait too?

The sadabahar-s have lost their bahar(bloom)
no essence of pink on petals
instead, left with paleness
with dewdrops coating them

The bahar-s(blooms) might not be for sada(forever)
but my love for you will always will

Sada-bahar is a Hindi word meaning always blooming and also the Hindi name of the periwinkle flower.

In this poem, the character is reminiscing the old memories spent with the person she/he/they like. The sadabahar-s symbolize the memories while their petals symbolize her/his/their cheeks.

She/He/They is/are perplexed because he/she/they don't/doesn't know what has gone wrong and is contemplating whether they should wait or not.
