Where are we?

[so as it turns out I struggle to write run-on chapters-so instead I'm just going to write multiple at a time and then post them a day or two apart]

(Duni's POV)

  "No need to worry Ddawn. They'll wake up soon" the words stopped me for a moment. Dawn smirked, chuckling a little at my expression. "Why so stunned?" His smooth, even voice sounded mocking.  "W-wel-""is it because your versions are either dead or rouge?""..." I don't like him. He looked smug and sadistic. Ddawn had a hand on the glass of Don's test tube. "...why do you even need Dash and Richard? Don't you have enough monsters?"Ddawn's voice edged on anger but shook with fear. Dawn tilted his head slowly before laughing a bit, motioning us to follow him. "Come on. I want to show you something Duni." Dawn turned on his heel and continued to walk. He brought us up a flight of stairs and to an open window that I hadn't been able to see from the outside. He smiled at me and motioned me to look out at the world.

  The plant life was flourishing. Healthy Green trees made up the forest, clouds swirled in the darkening sky, stars slowly became visible and despite having just started to appear they painted the sky and let out a glow brighter than the ones from his home. He could see the ruins of a town in the distance, nature having long taken the territory back. Vines grew over the roofs and walls, grass grew over the roads and the entire town sat in a peaceful stillness, then, Dawn turned my head to the right.

  Scenes flickered on a large screen nearby. It seemed like he had eyes everywhere and yet the only signs of human life were ruins in similar states to the town nearby. Occasionally I could see as his monsters as they chased after some random stranglers. He had killed- everyone...I looked over at him. His mouth was twisted in a smirk, his eyes were lidded- even his breath was shallowed as he puffed up a bit with a sick pride. "My work..running free in the world- no- not just running free in the world- running the world." He sighs- almost blissfully. "How I love them.." he turns to me. "I'm sure you of all people can appreciate this. Can't you?" Why- why is my heart pounding so hard in my chest...what is so scary about him? The look on his face isn't right. His smile doesn't reach his eyes, but it's wide and so very pleased, his eyes didn't hold the usual light of life and have such a sadistic joy and odd....curiosity in them.  His shoulders were dropped, posture straight but his head had a slight tilt as he looked at me. He did all of this, "why?..." he pouted slightly, "you don't understand then..well" he chuckled "let me explain."

"The world is a beautiful place, so filled with interesting life. But the most powerful life, all different forms of sentient anthropomorphic...things, they are.....well- quiet boring. And so very destructive. So, I fixed them and now they help people." Ddawn bristled, "h e l p? How is this helping? And why are you being so open with him?" His eye twitched as his mouth twisted into a scowl, shoulders tensed. Dawn only chuckled, shaking his head with a smirk. "They get strength, unity, a home, a family. They only need to be strong enough, to just have that oh so primal will to live, no matter what. That will is what made this possible in the first place anyways, I'll never forget it" he unbuttoned his lab coat and moved his under shirt down, old, brutal claw marks that looked like they had been burned closed ran down from his collar bone and down, presumedly all the way down his chest. He looked right at me, that smile finally reached his eyes, which looked manic and filled with pure satisfaction "You were worth these scars. No where near my perfect work but you were the firs-" Ddawn cut him off "and a complete accident." Dawn snapped his head around with a shout of "Quiet!" Ddawn only shouted back, enraged by something but both of their voices faded for a moment.

Is he...saying this version of me caused that- why- why is my vision going dark-
