Regulus watched the other Werewolf observant. Well, he did, his Wolf wanted to talk. Regulus asked himself how to hell he managed to get such a vocal Wolf to his Side.
'Are you sure we can trust him? He managed to fight our Pack and injured them!'
'Nero, you don't know him. He is Pack. Even more, he is Family. And he has lost his own Pack.'
'Well, how do you know him?'
'He was my Brothers best Friend. He is a Wolf since he was four. You and his Wolf have the same Father.'
There was a long silence after that. Regulus could sense his Wolf trying to repress the Fury he had when the Topic "Fenrir Greyback" came up. He knew that his Human didn't like it, but no Pup could swallow the Pain of being hated and left behind by their Father. Nero concluded that that was the main Problem for the other Wolf. No Father, no Den, no Pack, no security. He was an Alpha, but a lone Wolf was as dominant as an Alpha, he had to be to survive. But Nero was determined to protect the other Wolf. Regulus would take care of the Man. Nero would wait till next Full moon and care for the Wolf then. The Black was reliefed to feel his inner Predator relax and curl back up to sleep.
'Tell him he is Pack. Tell him he belongs. Don't let him go. He'll die.'
Regulus was too long a Werewolf to nod, but he agreed. Remus ate like he had been hungry for Years. He had nearly lost all Weight, only Bones and scarred Skin left. His Eyes were tired and his Shoulders tense from fighting the Wolf. Regulus could only assume how furious the Beast was. His human was hurt and starving, of course it fought. But Remus was now finished with eating and looked at him. Regulus sighed. Storytime.
"I was biten by Greyback and left England after that, together with Kassy. She actually safed me. Nearly killed Greyback in the procress. We fled, trying to escape the hard Laws in England. We made it to France, where we first learned what it meant to be Wolves. Now, we lead a Pack in Germany, the Black Forest Pack. Remus ... whatever they told you about Werewolves in Britain, it's wrong. We aren't Monsters. We are Apex-Predators like every other Breed of Wolves."
Remus stared at him, not fully believing what he heared. He looked scared and hurt.
"Remus. The Reason the Wolf is so aggressive is that he wants to protect you. If you are hurt, or scared, the Wolf want's to take control. The Wolf, your Wolf, is wild, yes, but he can be reasoned with."
"Then ... then why is he so feral now ...?", Remus asked confused.
Regulus smiled sadly, knowing exactly what the other Wolf meant.
"Because his Pack is gone, Remus. Every Werewolf longs for being Part of a Pack. We need it to stay stable. The closer the Pack, the more stable are the Wolves."
Remus nodded slowly. He looked relaxed now, but still overwhelmed with the News. Regulus needed to find a Way to help him.
"How about this: I inform the Deutsches Amt für Werwolf-Angelegenheiten, still a Tongue-Twister , that you'l be staying with our Pack until you and your Wolf are on speaking Terms or maybe even longer, and Anna can show you where you'll be staying for the next few Days?"
Remus frowned.
"Do ... do you have to inform the Officials?"
Regulus sighed. Like every britain Werewolf, Remus feared the Officials and what they would do to him. His Wolf was scared too, Nero could smell it. Regulus send the Feeling of a calm Summer Night to his Wolf and he abandoned the Thought of going to London and paint the Walls of the Ministry red with blood.
"Yes, Remus. But don't worry, they won't hurt you. They just want to know how many Wolves are around, you understand? So they can adjust the Wards that shelter our Territory from the Muggles."
Remus still seemed unconvinced, but he nodded. Regulus smiled encouraging and got up, calling for his Wife and Beta over the Pack-Link. She was there in a Minute, her chocolate-brown Hair still damp from a Shower and her usual brown Eyes a dark gold - her Wolf was close to the surface. But Regulus wasn't worried: Anna's She-Wolf was a calm, protective Type who would rather snuggle than fight. Still, she had been injured by Remus' Wolf as the Predator fought for his Life.
"How is he?", she asked after they kissed, the low growl of her Wolf nearly inaudible.
"He's confused, but okay. He needs a calm room though, he looks like he lived on the Streets for the last Years ...."
Anna growled in unison with her Wolf, both clearly planning to kill whoever was responsible for that.
"How are the Pups?", Regulus asked to distract her.
"They're fine. Cody wanted to know what happend and Kassy offered to tell him and Feli. The Twins are asleep."
Regulus nodded and kissed his Wife again. He still couldn't believe that he was blessed with a beautiful Mate and three, three wonderful Pups. Life was good here in Germany, and he wanted to show that to Remus. He could feel Nero purr like a Lion in Agreement.
'He's Pack. Our Pack!', they thought in unison.
