Being Part of the Pack was an overwhelming Experiance for Remus over and over again.
First of all, there was the overall Behavior of the Packmembers towards each other. Everyone worked together at everything, be it watching the Children, taking turns driving them somewhere, taking care of the large Dogpack the Pack owned, cleaning up the huge Yard around the Packhouse or working on the Wolf-Enclosure the Pack ran as an educational Project. It was registered in the Muggle World as a Wolf Education Center and housed a Pack of Gray Wolves. On Full Moons, those Wolves ran with the Pack.
Every Packmember, Werewolf or not, had a special Connection to a Wolf or Dog. Remus hadn't. Although, he had, but the Dog he connected with was sitting in Askaban. The Dogs were held either at the Homes or in comfortable Kennels, mostly German Sheppards, Huskies and other working Breeds.
The Pack was getting the Money from multiple Sources, something that impressed Remus. They ran the Education Center, worked on multiple Tourist Sites, both Muggle and Wizard and had Jobs in both Worlds. Three Members played in local Quidditch-Club and others worked in the magical Government of Germany.
Nobody forced Remus to participate in any of that. He was allowed to recover and work through his Trauma. Loosing his Pack was hell for him and he had his bad Episodes. There were Days were he couldn't brink himself to leave his Bed, couldn't eat or just wanted to be alone. He started running in the Morning, running through the Forest and the Mountains. Kassy often ran with him, sometimes Human, sometimes as a Wolf. It was during those Runs that Remus finally connected to a Dog. It was a shaggy Mongrel from a Shelter. His Fur was gray and white with black Ear- and Tailtips and a black Mask over the Eyes. He loved running with Remus, who named him Snuffles. That and the easy Routine of the Pack helped Remus to get back to his Feet. He started to take interest in the Children of the Pack and supported the Packmembers who were homeschooling them. Teaching had been a secret dream of his and now, it felt almost natural to him. The older Kids, who went to primary School, soon started comming to him for Homework. But it was Feli who spoke the Idea out loud during Dinner.
"Uncle Remus?", she asked, her blue Eyes wide with Curiosity, "why aren't you teaching in School?"
Stunned silence followed the innocent Question of the almost-six-Year-old. The Black-Family-Members, what meant Regulus, Anna, Kassy and the Kids Felixa, Cody and the Twins Accalia and Eyolf, all stared at Remus.
"Excellent Question, Feli-sweetheart", Kassiopeia said while putting her Fork down, "Why DOESN'T Remus teach somewhere?"
Remus sighed and arranged his cutlery on his Plate, staring down on it.
"Because being a Werewolf ...."
"No no no no, Remus, stop right there", Regulus interrupted him with a lifted Hand.
Anna was the one explaining: "Whatever you were going to say, it's different in Germany. If you want to teach here, no matter what School, there is a lot of Education happening first. Mostly to make sure you actually know what you're doing. I don't know what you call it in the UK, but one of the Things you at least should know about is Pädagogik."
"Pedagogy, Anna, it's called Pedagogy", Kassy explained.
"Thanks Sisterheart ... now, Remus, if you really want to prusue Teaching as a Profession, the Pack will certainly be able to enable you to do so."
Remus couldn't help it. A huge Smile spread over his Face and he nodded slightly, a little overwhelmed by the new Informations.
"That would be fantastic, thank you."
