George and Sapnap sat at in the forest, leaning against a tree as they waited for Dream. They had a few small conversations, holding hands and smiling at each other. It was the same thing every time they went to meet up with Dream, but had pulled apart before Dream saw their interlocked hands.
They had finally decided to tell Dream they were going to that they were dating. Sapnap was worried that Dream wouldn't accept them and George was telling him that Dream would accept them. Their conversation ended shortly after until a villager had appeared to give them a scroll.
Sapnap looked at it as George stared at his boyfriend. "Is this why Dream's not here yet?" The brunet spoke under his breath, catching Sapnap's attention. George bit his lip and opened the scroll.
Dear Sapnap and George,
I apologise for having to put this in letter form instead of just telling you both in person. I have to leave, sadly, on a training journey. The king had decided to recruit me, as one of this villages Lords had apparently told the king about me. Again, if I could tell you I had to leave I would have but it seems the urgency needed me to come as soon as possible. Just know, one day I will come back to you two.
I'm sorry,
Dream :)Sapnap watched as George read the letter, freezing halfway through it and just handing it to the raven haired male. Sapnap skimmed through the scroll, frowning at the last few lines. There's only three Lords here, Sapnap remembered, and his father was one. The issue was, which Lord had sent him away?
Sapnap's father had loved Dream, but he would never send Dream away for training. He had already claimed Dream surpassed all other guards, actually he surpassed anyone but the Prince and one other person. The other two lords Dream had actually never met as they both didn't like how he always wore a mask. They claimed he might have been a wanted thief hiding under the mask he never took off.
No one had seen the real Dream, they had all seen the mask he wears- both literally and metaphorically- and but never his face. No one also knew why Dream paused before each sentence when he had first arrived and why it took over three years for him to stop hesitating before he said anything. He still did now and again, but it was much less then he did now.
George had ended up cuddling into Sapnap and crying. Sapnap couldn't do anything but rub his back and comfort the sad male.
"Hey, hey, he's gonna come back one day, right? He won't be gone forever. He- his letter... He promised he would come back to us one day..." Sapnap stared at the letter as his own tears threatened to fall. He held them back, how could he comfort George if he was also in need of it?
Whenever both Sapnap and George were sad, Dream would always be there to comfort them both. They would sit in a tree and rest their heads on Dreams shoulders as they cried and complained about the problems and anything they were having issues with. More often than not it was their village not accepting their relationship. After they had finished crying they would continue to laugh and joke into the night until the sun rose again the next day. Even then, some days they actually did fall asleep and Dream would have had to take them down from the tree before they fell and hurt themselves in their sleep and they would wake up just to spend the time together until they inevitably had to leave around late noon.
Sapnap was still upset, George even more so, but Sapnap wasn't upset at whoever summoned his presence, he was mad- no that's not right, he was furious- at Dream for not even giving them a proper goodbye. Just a half-assed letter saying he was sorry. Somehow, Sapnap didn't believe that they would see Dream anytime soon.

Meanwhile miles away, Dream was riding his horse, Spirit, and staring at the sky as his mind wandered through bittersweet memories of his friends. Dream hesitated, friends? Dream shook his head, his crushes. Dream had always felt strongly for the two boys and wanted them both to be his. He cared not about how the pair loved each other, as long as they were his and his only.
Now, Dream had known he was overly possessive. He remembered when George had told him about a boy a few years older than them who was mocking him and had called him many slurs. That same day, the boy turned up missing. Dream was just going to warn him, but the idiot had to go and insult Sapnap too.
So instead of just warning him like he had planned, he ended up threatening the boy and cutting off one of his fingers. Call him crazy or just highly sadistic, but he thought the boy deserved it, and he would stand by that. But he cared about his boys even if they didn't care for him the same. The boy promptly took Dreams warning and had ran away, leaving his family and home village forever.
Dream still didn't regret it.
Dream shook his head, sighing. Of course had had to be summoned now of all times, the same day that Sapnap had told him that he had big news about him and George. He was curious, as he had always been, but now he would never know. Yeah, he had wirren in that cursed scroll that he would be back someday, but he just said that so the pair would be slightly comforted when he did leave. If he could have, he would turn around immediately and ride Spirit back to them. But he couldn't, so he continued to ride towards the SMP Castle, to his original home that he could not escape if he went back now.

Dream isn't a yandere I swear- he's just hella overprotective :>
