"Ah, I'm sorry is there something wrong?" He asked, faking a concerned face. He knew what was wrong, he could tell they recognized his voice.
"I'm sorry your Highness, your voice just sounds very similar to our friend who had recently disappeared." George finally spoke, putting a fake smile on his face.
"Ah, I'm sorry... That must be upsetting. May I ask what your name is?" Dream raised his eyebrow, looking over George curiously. He had just realized they were both wearing identical suits, except George's button up was a pale, pale blue and Sapnap's was a light red.
"I'm sorry I must have forgotten to introduce myself, my name is George. I'm Sapnap's.... boyfriend." Dream couldn't hide his shocked face this time. They were dating? Since when, and for how long? Were they never going to tell him and let him eventually find out like an idiot? The couple must have misinterpreted his facial expression, as they narrowed their eyes at him. "I'm sorry, do you have a pro-" George started, tone harsh and sharp until Dream cut him off.
"Oh no, sorry I was just surprised. Not many are openly gay, and even then some of them rarely get to be with the one they love. Trust me, I would probably be the last person to have a problem with the gays, seeing as I am one that would be really awkward." Dream laughed lightly, glad that his laugh actually sounded more "normal" and wasn't his actual laugh- or wheeze- as that would ruin everything he planned.
"Oh.... Oh!" The pairs eyes widened, staring down the grinning Prince. "I am so sorry! We just assumed, since this is a ball to find you a bride that you were... straight." George hurriedly explained, glancing at Sapnap.
Dreams eyes hardened, turning his head to glare at the back of his Fathers head. "Yeah, as I said. Sometimes we rarely get to be with the one, or ones in my case, we love." He mumbled the words but could tell they heard him.
He turned and saw Sapnap was about to say something until another lady, Dream guessed she would be a duchess or something, came over. "Your Highness! I had been looking for you! I'm Lady Kassandra, of a neighboring kingdom. I was wondering if you would like to dance with me?" The lady, Kassandra, rudely interrupted their conversation, and twirled in her pastel pink ball gown.
"I'm sorry, Lady Kassandra but I am no longer taking dance requests. Besides, I was having a lovely conversation with this couple before you had come over here." Dream spoke, silently seething. He had taken notice of how George stared him down, a mix of emotions visible on his face.
The lady wrinkled her nose. "These fags? They're disgusting, scum. They aren't worthy of your time, my Prince. I however, can make your night very worthwhile." She winked, and Dream almost gagged visibly. He paused, remembering her first words and his expression hardened once again.
"That will be all, Lady Kassandra. I would recommend you know your place in my kingdom. You are nothing more then a traveller, your status means nothing in the presence of a Lord in a village of my Kingdom. And I would also recommend you rethink your words and learn to hold that filthy tongue of yours." Dream sneered, ripping his arm form the wenches grasp and turning back to Sapnap and George. "Now where were we?"
Sapnap shook his head, laughing incredulously as the duchess stomped away. "I'm sorry, my Prince, but that was absolutely hilarious." Sapnap laughed, George giggling along next to him.
"I apologise for that rude interruption, but how about we go somewhere else?" Dream offered, grinning internally when his boys immediately agreed.
Dream signaled for them to follow him and they walked to the royal garden, this one actually had flowers and plants of many colours, since this one was strictly for the Royals and their special guests.
"This garden is beautiful!" George fawned over, running to a weeping willow tree, and caressing one of the vines.
"I'm glad you like it, you seem like someone who likes plants. No offence, of course." Dream smiled, walking over to a section of the garden.
"What is this gray flower?" George questioned, playfully rolling his eyes at Dreams words, and instead pointing to a pale pink flower.
Dream raised an eyebrow and walked over to where George was. "That's a dahlia, and its pink. Are you colour blind by any chance?" Dream hummed when George nodded. "Do you want some seeds? I can talk to the royal gardener to try to get you some?"
George's eyes widened, switching gaze his from Dream to Sapnap. "Wait, really!? You're not messing with me are you?" Dream chuckled, nodding. "Yes, yes please! That would be amazing!" He smiled widely, eyes moist with a few tears.
Dream hummed again and walked to another part of the garden, keeping his eyes on the plants he passed. Finally, a good distance but not that far away that he could no longer see the pair, he found the flower he was looking for. He plucked two forget-me-nots then walked back over to them and quickly tucking the flowers behind their ears. They stared at him in confusion before George opened his mouth, like he was about to say something before closing it, though Dream saw how his eyes had lit up in realisation.
"Forget-me-nots?" George muttered, wide eyes flicking between his boyfriend and so called "disappeared" friend. "You aren't who you say you are, are you?" George murmured, catching Sapnap off guard.
Dream just smiled, an eyebrow raised and eyes half lidded as he watched the brunet male. Sapnap, however, was just staring at them both alarmed. "And how am I not who I say I am? If I wasn't the prince, surely I would have been kicked from the castle or possibly killed for faking the identity of being a royal." Dream spoke, plucking a rose and pulling off the few thorns it had as he twirled it in his hand, uncaring of the little spots of blood appearing on his hand as he did. They would disappear or stop bleeding soon enough, all the thorns did was break a bit of skin.
"Maybe I should have worded that differently," George clarified, leaning forwards from where he had sat- when he say down Dream did not know but Sapnap had been standing next to his lover- the expression on the brunets face showed his anger, annoyance, and a few other emotions that Dream couldn't detect, "you're not just the prince, are you?"
